Hi all
Well, the reservation was booked at Maxwell's when we left the last brunch..... .so, it's that time to start planning your attendance! :)

Still $19.95 + taxes/tip per person, to be collected upon arrival of brunch (not when the bill shows up... thanks for understanding)
So, please note here in this thread if you can attend so I can get the headcount! :) Will check with my Brazilian Nut about them dumplins'.

Hi Phyl,
Looking forward to attending the luncheon, My next MRI is on Monday, October 25th in Boston. I need to get good news, I have had a terrible summer. My dad was sick all summer and passed away on August 28th. So I need to recieve good news for my MRI, keep me in your best wishes. Also I guess the Red Sox have had a bad summer too.

Sorry to say I am not going to be joining the Brunch Bunch this time :'( Andy and I are headed for NYC that weekend. Was holding out til I knew for sure. Will very, very much miss not be there (my bathroom scale won't miss it one ounce lol).

HI, this is Norma. I recently attended with my husband the local ANA support meeting at Laura's house. I was recently diagnose with a 4mm An, currently in watch and
wait, and currently doing my treatment research. I heard about the brunch from Laura and Phyl. My husband (Harold) and I are looking forward to join and meeting you all at the brunch.

Well, folks.... I had 2 more cancellations.... so, do we cancel the brunch? It seems that the timeframe is inconvenient for many and since the numbers are dwindling, please note here your thoughts on cancelling it and rescheduling for the spring.

Since my gall bladder op (will be the near that date - final date not set) ... I would not mine of the date is moved forward a week or 2)

I think it would be better for us if the date was moved too, but only if other people are in agreement. perhaps you can take a poll of a good date.

hi Phyl, It's O.K. with us if you want to cancel the October date. It's more fun if everyone can come. If you do move the date, we will be away from Oct. 29th to Nov.5th. Maybe you should look for a spring date because some people may not want to drive that far during the winter months with unexpected weather. People have been traveling from Conn. New Hampshire, and the western part of the state just to have brunch. Thanks for taking a vote! Let's try to include as many people as possible......Kathy and Bob Mac

With the risk of winter weather approaching (which would force us to forgo the 200-mile round trip) and the reality of crowded schedules for many of us, I vote to cancel.
I trust that the spring brunch would produce a large turnout, as many of us would be suffering from dumpling deprivation as well as missing the personal contact with other AN patients.

I know.... it's a first after.... oh, I lost count.... 7 or 8 brunches.... BUT, I've alerted Gil that he can rest his fingers for now on them apple dumplins and to prep for spring! PLU-EEEEZE keep us updated on the MRI.

Guess this brunch wasn't meant to be--I hadn't checked my e-mail for several days now and just this morning I came on to send my regrets--my daughter- in-law called me last night asking me to babysit Oct 17 as my son is running in his first half marathon...Of course I couldn't refuse...
I am saddened to hear of Bill's stroke but sounds like he will recover which is great so maybe we will see him in the spring... ;)
Definitely hope to see all us "brunchies" in the Spring... ;D

OK, folks.... alternate date in the Spring? I need to book the reservation now due to spring bookings (ie: engagement parties, college graduations, etc). Please note here alternate date... we usually do in April/May timeframe.

I vote for early sometime in April, I don't have a 2011 calendar handy to see when Easter is. I have my daughter graduating from College in May, (thank god, now my husband and I will have some money), so May would be iffy for me since I do not know the date yet for the graduation.
This info is for Phyl and me and any other Red Sox Fan::::::Opening day is April 8th, Friday against the Yankees, so that whole weekend they are playing the Yanks, also have home games on the weekend of the 16th and 17th and 30th and May 1st, so traffic could be a problem. They are away on the weekend of the 1st and 2nd and the 22nd and 23rd. Just thought you would like to know ::). But like I said before I do not know when Easter is.

April is great for me. When I told my mother the October brunch was cancelled, she said, "I was looking forward to the apple dumplings". She'll have to eat 2 in April. ;D

We usually meet for the brunch in mid-to-late April. Easter is the 24th which leaves the 3rd, 10th or 17th . I prefer a slightly later date due to inclement weather concerns so my choice would be the 17th - but I'm not adverse to a different date if that works best for others.

April 17th may be a great date for all of us! It's the day before the Boston Marathon and we have had some people who were here from Texas and Maryland join us. The first gal ran the Marathon and the other gal's husband ran it also. There may be others who would like to join us who have family members running or are running themselves. Just a thought from the Mac's................................Kathy Mac

April 17 is great. Last year, there was a couple from Upstate NY who were passing through to Boston to see their daughter run in the marathon. It would be great if they came again.

Elaine, when I spoke to Gil last week, he had Bill on the phone and Bill was "barking" orders to Gil, in which Gil said that Bill is feeling better :) Bill's daugther is handling a lot and Gil is there for him as well. I've sent Bill a card (the restaurant was kind enough to phone me back with the nursing home/rehab's address) and put a "thinking of you" card in this past weekend's mail to Bill, signed from us all, to let him know we are cheering him on. Will try to phone him later as well.

For those that may not know 'mensch' is a jewish word for a person with a good heart and does right especially when it comes to others. If you look it up in the Hebrew dictionary you will see Phyl's picture. She is a true 100% mensch thru and thru!!
