Title: veterans administration
Post by: gary on August 13, 2010, 10:12:52 am
can anyone advise how the VA is for handling a vestibular Schwannoma, 2 cm. at present time. I didnt know my wife had canceled our health insurence due to no money, so I was seeing private doctors to see about a buzzing in my one ear, after the VA brushed it off a year ago. Now I find I have the VS and no private health insurence and am pushed into the Va System in Syracuse NY.

Would be grateful for help. I in in the upstate, the real upstate NY where we have very limited health care, so I too am looking for a good doctor in the NY upstate, middle area.

Thank you.

hello gary, i dont know of any doctors in your state that i can reccomend. i am however familiar with the va system in the chicago area. i was fortunate to have been diagnosed with a 4.5 cm an while in service and later received a disability rating for it. unless you have a rating yourself, im sure there will be some sort of co-pay if you receive treatment there. i wish i can be of more help to you but i saw your va post and had to look into it. best wishes, thank you for serving and stay positive

My an was removed at the Richmond, Virginia VA hospital.  The specialist all come from VCU, a medical school in Richmond.  I was fortunate and had an excellent experience.
