I just made an appointment to have my Tarsorrhaphy reversed. This Friday, the 30th of July is also the one year anniversary of my Translab Surgery. So much to look back on and be thankful for. I consider myself very luck to have successfully treaded the torrent of water that has passed under the bridge to recovery...boy, my arms sure are tired!

Great news, Doc. How is your facial recovery going otherwise?

Doc,
What a way to end the year, and an eye opening experience it is!
Let us know how you do with your eye wide open. Still using gel? Can you blink or almost blink?
Best wishes for uneventful eye opening experience ;) You've had some whoozy of stories this past year!

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to getting back to a somewhat normal appearance...tired of scaring small children at the IHOP with my "Stink Eye" as my son calls it.
Sara - Still having facial issues. Paralysis on the left side. Droopy left eyebrow. Pain on the left side of the nose and cheek. Still have to be careful about how, even what I eat...swallowing still a bit impaired. Stuff like that.
Moe - I haven't used Gel or Drops for severals months now. The key I've found is to simply not touch to eye with anything but a damp cloth. I am able to kind of sort of blink. The Eye also closes well enough for me to sleep...even to take a combat nap during lunch on the couch in my office...a daily ritual since the Doc's poked around in my head last year. I've also gotten in the habit of burring it in a pillow to get to sleep.
Take Care!

Hi Doc: a year already - time sure flies ! Great to hear you're getting your eye under control (I'm still with the constant lubricant, nighteye patch). You're looking great.
Doesn't it all feel like the bad dream has ended ??
Continued healing my friend. Always good thoughts, Nancy
