Title: BAHA Day is coming soon!
Post by: Sue Vogel on March 03, 2010, 07:59:40 pm
I got the green light today and am scheduled to get my BP100 on May 5.  My surgeon says my abutment looks great (though I still think it's awfully close to my scalp on one side.)  He did find a little leftover stitch that is the apparent culprit for some of my head soreness.  I have not found the experience to be the "breeze" that others have described, but it's certainly a piece of cake compared to the AN surgery.  My balance problems have been somewhat exacerbated since the BAHA surgery, and some of the old symptoms have shown their faces again (fatigue, tightness on side of head, the little drool in the corner of my mouth, etc.)  They're like old friends, right?  It's amazing what we learn to deem the "new normal."  All the more reason for our AN club.  We understand each other.

Congratulations, Sue!

I put your BAHA Gotcha Day on the AN calendar  ;D

Sorry to hear about the "issues" you are having.  I could be wrong, but I don't think they are related to the BAHA implant; they sound more like AN surgery side-effects.

Either way, I'm glad your site has healed well and you'll be "plugged in" on May 5th.

Best,

Jan
