Let's take this opportunity to express our thoughts, prayers and well-wishes for a succesful treatment and good outcome for one of our best!

I have no doubts everything will go fine with your CK treatments next week. I heard they were replacing all the transistors and duck tape on the machine over the weekend ;D

I predict your biggest challenge will be establishing the east coast tradition for CK patients at BI after treatment. Maybe the chowder thing will work ;)

Dang, I truly am lucky that he is in my life... anyway, he told me that this weekend may be a hectic one as folks/family may be calling, taking care of last minute things around here (cleaning/shopping, etc) prepping for Kate to arrive Sunday night and to minimize my stresses going into next week. He's right.... I know he is. But, knowing you all are here, cheering me on (I wonder how Laz would look in a cheerleading outfit? :P ) is truly helping me... and I cannot thank you all for the love and support. I've said it once, I've said it more times than I can count... you all truly do rawk.

TGIF folks! :)

In fact if you're like me, you will think you were ripped off because it's so hard to believe that robot arm circling around you does anything at all, you expect to feel something but you don't. I spoke to Phyl briefly on my way home from work, about an hour ago. She is still under the effects of the drugs she was given for her treatment this morning and so is feeling very draggy, but she is home, Kate and her have had lunch and walked Beanie.

I'll call her again in an hour or 2 and hopefully the effects of the drugs will have warn off.

I've had a fuller conversation with Phyll, she's still very draggy, but the treatment drugs have now worn off. She's just resting, ie curled up in bed with Beanie, to "help healthy tissue". The first treatment went off without a hitch, in at 8:30am and out about an hour later.

Just had a quick call from Phyll, she's now arisen and is directing traffic, nextdoor kids to walk Beanie, Kate to make lasagne, me thinks she's feeling better.

Doing ok folks.. just on for aminute... have a hint of full ear, to be expected. Atavan/Attababe happy pills are worn off. Took 3 hr nap and Kate is making lasagna for dinner. All in all, I'm ok and didn't expect anything different. Will just rest a lot. Today's Music.... YANni "Live at the Acropoiis!"

Tomorrow's music selection (no joke!) Alvin and Chipmunks Christmas! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, over and out for now. Be good, stay outta trouble and if not, I'm expecting someone to give me a full low down on what I am missing!

I've just spoken to Phyll and she is very tired. She felt the "treatment" hit the tumour 3 times today, and upon returning home promptly took to her bed with Beanie.

No wet tshirts but the double deckers, top deck, between stop signs can be quite loverly. Cheeky, aren't I???? :D

Day 3 of treatment. I can tell when they hit the growth or hearing nerve... it's like a can of bug spray when it hits and the tinnitus screams in my head... just wish it would play a song I knew. Today's music selection... U2's "Joshua Tree" The affects so far have been minimal and tolerable and just hanging in there. Get home from treatment and sleep for 3 hours, but I think it's due to the Atavan they give me pretreatment. BTW, pics of me in my Hannibal Lechter mask will be posted on my frappr website when we get back. My baby sister now calls me and say 'ah, Hannibal Lechter, this is Clarrrrrrrrrr-eese!". Trust me, it's not just me in the family that is warped... :)

Anyway, off to BI now... ready to rock and roll and just get this done. Kate, Beanie and I are doing fine... getting lots of love from them but the support you all are providing is doing me wonders. I can say "thank you" in many different languages, but to just say it in simple English form just doesn't seem enough.

Just going to keep this brief today... (for now, milk it while you can!) Dog continued to bark while I was trying to nap so going to try to lay back down while she's quiet.

If anyone is contemplating CK, these pics should really put you at ease! I promise!
Some symptoms that I figured would occur, nothing unexpected. All in all, doing ok, just tired. My CB has been constantly checking up on me and hope to hear from him shortly. Kate is doing a fab job taking care of me and as for you all, especially a couple of you wenches that got hold of my home address.... how the heck do I send properly loves and smooches and huggles of support back at you. You all are amaizing!

Anyway, going to TRY to lay back down now... 2 days left to go, I cannot damn wait! Tomorrow's music selection.... instead of Chipmunks due to their loudpitch sound, I'm bringing Elvis Presley's "Christmas"... Friday's celebratory of treatment over music, have no clue... I'm taking requests.

Love you all and can't thank you enough for ALL of your love and support! I've bragged about you to my family and friends. Day 4, here I come... yesterday was a little rough emotionally. Decadron really killing my sleep patterns but trying to counteract the affects. Kate has now informed me that I won the snoring contest last night between me and Beanie... I think I get a dog bone now for cleaner, whiter teeth! Yay me!

Tinnitus has now enhanced and swelling has occured but hanging tough. Taking everything in stride and doing the best I can. Keep telling myself it's almost done, on the downslope and hanging as tough as I can. Lost a co-worker's grandchild (8 yrs old) yesterday, so my counterpart from San Jose is flying in tonight and will be staying with me (wake Friday night, Funeral Sat am, across the street from where I live), so things are a little more hectic now but trust me, between Kate and my dad, getting yelled at to do not much of anything.

Had a chance to say hello to a few of you on the phone last night with dad here (had to keep you on speaker phone, even with cotton in my ears... )Ã‚Â He is VERY impressed with all the love and support you all give.Ã‚Â So am I, so is my CB, so it Kate.Ã‚Â Dad's comments were how upbeat everyone sounds, even in times of need.Ã‚Â The love you all share is amazing and he is so greatful that you all think of me (except for Capt'n Deb disclosing physical secrets that Dad disclosed about me -- just remember Deb, the acorn didn't fall from the tree in this case!).

Anyway, I know I haven't really posted to other threads this week to be able to offer my support to new folks here... so counting on you all to help make up the slack for what I am lacking this week.

BTW, today's music is Elvis Presely "Christmas Classics"... lower voice vs. high pitched will be easier on me...

OK, I was talking to Phyl and asked her about something I saw on a thread. It was about Decadron and Dexamethasone. She told me they are indeed one in the same. So, I shared that I have had a lot of experience with Dex....working at the wildlife rehab center....it is what we inject into birds that slam into windows (amongst other things). So any of you on Decadron feel free to run head first into a window...it's OK, you're medicated for it!

I talked to Phyll today, and she wants everyone to know she's doing OK. The CB is away from the internet this weekend, so that's why we haven't heard from him. She had a rough end of the week, with the wake last night and the funeral this morning. She was having some side effect issues that she's working out, in fact, when she gets back she'll be starting a thread about keeping cerebral pressure at bay when you need to be on poop patrol....she had to figure that one out by herself, and I told her I'd already wondered about that issue, and agreed that even though it's a "crappy" subject, it might be helpful to those pre-treatment to discuss how to handle it.

Deb, she said you have saved yourself from almost certain death by not revealing her secret in the phone conversation last night. ;)

I have a story out there about "tarts" for all you practical jokers....My SO, an officer (Iain, that would be "Bobby" for you), was sent a beautiful basket of chocolate cookies of the most scrumptious variety at work. So, about 2 weeks later, when all the cookies were gone, he got something else in the mail. A photo of a nude "tart", and not of the pretty call girl variety, sitting in a chair holding his cookie basket. Ah, the games we adults play...all in the name of silliness.

Have missed you all so so very much here and wanted you all to know I'm ok.

To try to save time and energy (which is still a bit ragged), I did a post on the CK support forum (just follow the yellow brick road...er... link: http://www.cyberknifesupport.org/forum/default.aspx?f=1&m=3928) which gives an update as of today.

For those of you that have called and did a few things WAYYYYYYYYYYYY beyond the call of duty (Kathleen, that's duty, not the "other")..... I have no words to express the gratitude of my family, my friends, CB, Beanie... and me. Papa Pearl took me for a ride today to get a little fresh air and he marvels at the support that you all have given to me this past week. BTW, yes... I'm still doing weigh in tomorrow am. Doubtful I'm going to work as I think I need one more day to get the meds situated but all in all.... I could NOT have gotten through this without you all... and for that... saying "thank you" just doesn't seem to be enough.

Has anyone else had tinnitus in BOTH ears after radiosurgery? Mine seems to be confined to my left (AN side) ear. It seems that, if they're only frying the nerve on one side, it should only make that ear ring.

Kilroy on this end of fl we get an influx of slimy green frogs around august or so. They've been known to come up through the sewer pipes YUCKY POO!

Only 1-1/2 mile commute and hoping my boss will be easy on me today. Just spoke to the CB and got his daily well wishes and smoochies (via phone but I'll take 'em!). So..... off I go and will keep you all posted.

Had a very rough night last night. Will place call to BI and get their thoughts. Possible meds side affects again but going into the office and going to last as long as I can. Not overdo-ing, by far but want to make sure nothing is going on that shouldn't be. Will keep you all updated and folks... thanks sooooooooooooooooo much for the support. I think you all are now going weary on me and listening to me the past week (especially those phone calls) but know that you all so rawk in my book and heck... what do I say? :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
