Title: Southern Ont AN'ers getting together
Post by: yardtick on October 25, 2009, 10:44:26 am
There are quite a few of us who live in and around the Toronto area.  I have been thinking about this for some time now and was wondering if we could get together for a brunch, lunch or coffee.  I realize how busy lives are and old man winter is breathing down our necks, no splenda yet so a get together is possible.

Tell me what you think,
Anne Marie

I spent some time in Ontario and London several years ago for work. Well, gosh, almost twenty years ago now. I really enjoyed it and I would come back if I could. I hope you get a great turnout, Anne Marie.

Hey Anne Marie

I am always up to meeting 'internet' people, so far so good  ;D .  I have already met MK and Calimama (and all the babes).  I would love to add a few more to the list.

I'd love to come out.

I work every second Saturday, but might be able to book something off. I'm off every Sunday and Monday.

Any Sunday will work for me.  I know Trish is busy with her babies, hopefully she will read this thread.  I wonder if Michelle in Barrie would be able to come.  I need suggestions as to were we can meet.  I will be coming in from Stoney Creek (East Hamilton).

The more the merrier,
Anne Marie

PS Vivian, are you interested?

This is an excellent idea! I have always want to met some of my ANA friends. I have already met Trish and Ann (Keeping Up) and I have corresponded with a few others (also from the Ottawa area).
Unfortunately I am a bit far from the GTA - could take the train but things are crazy busy here these days so I don't think I can make it this fall.

I was thinking that with the silly season on us, coffee and treats might be the easiest to do for everyone.

I am in Brampton and can travel, since my kids are older (relative to calimama I hear) and I have less of them that calimama and keeping up. It's easier for me to get around.

Is anyone interested in hitting a Second Cup/Starbucks/other reputable coffee house?

Lakeshore on the subway line could be convenient, Bloor West Village? or at a shopping plaza, Sherway? Yorkdale? girls can do some Holiday shopping?

And there is the Toronto Support Group meeting also coming up in November. It might be an idea to go there and then coffee after?

Let me know what you all think.

Nikki

Hi Nikki,

Where is the meeting and time?  Could I bring my girlfriend with me?

Hi Ann Marie,

I hope you can get a few fellow ANers together for brunch/luncheon.  I have found the get togethers we've had with the NY/NJ group to be informative and great fun!  Catherine (jerseygirl2) mentioned that she thinks only nice people get ANs and based on those I've met virtually and in person, I'd say she's right.  I hope this comes together for you.

Best,
Wendy
