Title: Ear,nose and throat filled with phlegm after GK
Post by: kathy g on August 07, 2009, 05:42:42 pm
I had gamma knife surgery  May 20th.

For the last month, my good ear (an my nose, throat) has been clogged with phlegm.  Could this be caused by the radiation?  I read that radiation can cause more mucous.

Also thought it might be caused by the lack of saliva, thus my phlegm is sticky.

Went to my GP and he gave me antibiotics and ear drops, but the phlegm keeps coming back.  Nasal washes, Musinex and steam help.

Hope I am not getting another tumor.

I am going to have my 3 month MRI on the 20th of Aug.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

Kathy
