Got up this am and eye looked good. An hour later took a shower and afterthat my eye turned real red. I don't have much feeling in that eye so off I went to the eye doctor. She said my cornea was a llittle irritated and is having me use Tobrdex ointment. Has anyone else had this problem with shampoo getting in their eye? I am guessing that is what happened.Plus I changed brands of Shampoo. Karen

...sure, but it should clear right up with a little Refresh PM if it is just the shampoo. "Medicated" shampoos (Head'n'Shoulders) are the worst! Hrissy and I were talking about this one day...

Just plain water can also turn your eye red and irritated. Have you tried putting on a fairly thick layer of Refresh PM before your shower?

Karen: Every morning before I put in lubricant I use Naphcon A (an allergy eye drop) that gets the red out.
Always good thoughts, Nancy

I use baby shampoo. The no-tears kind. My eye will still get red about one out of four days. I think it's the water. I put in two drops of liqigel and in about 30 minutes it's clear again. If that doesn't do it, I put in ointment for the day. I have no feeling so I can't tell if it feels irritated. People around me let me know if my eye gets red. It's been nearly four years now and I have adapted to the periodic redness.

Rob has had a tarsorophy and finds it easier to use baby shampoo, although not all brands are suitable for him and have given him sore red eyes. He tends to use Johnsons baby shampoo, but even that can sting his eyes sometimes.

In the last six months, I've noticed my eye get red easier, and I think I've had pinkeye twice. I think my eyelid doesn't close as fully now compared to post-surgery. Anyway I due for another hearing test and MRI in September so I was going to bring it up to my doc then. I guess my facial nerve is still sorting itself out....
