So glad she is going home. I too hope she can keep resting a lot and recovery will be smooth.

Bryan ~

I'll assume Pam is home by now.  Please pass on our collective congratulations!  That's a definite milestone on the road to recovery.  Let her know we're rooting for her to have a smooth and speedy recovery, although she should 'listen to her body' and not try to set records, just regain her strength.  I'm certain that being surrounded by her family in her own home will definitely be a spirit-lifter.

Hi everyone! Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you. It seems we are busier at home than in the hospital.

We have been back since Tuesday afternoon and Pam is doing very well. She walked over to the neighbors house the night we got back! (Her Mom was next to her the whole way)

The first couple of days she was pretty tired but since then she has been to the mall and out to eat a few times.

Her left eye still does not close all the way but we are taking care of it and expect it to improve. She still has some facial weakness on the left side but we also expect that to improve.

Our post-op appointment is next Wednesday (7/1). She will get her stiches out then.

We were at the neighbors last night for dinner. Pam had a good time. They are good friends and have been very helpful through this ordeal. We are all watching her close but she is taking care of herself and resting often.

Everynone (Pam, Mom-in-law, and kids) are napping now.

More info later.

Thanks again for all the support! It made things a lot easier.

Congratulations Pam and Brian on a successful surgery!
And so far very successful recovery!
Rests/naps/quiet activities are the order of the day for the next 2-6 weeks, depending on how Pam is doing, with gentle increases in activity.
Been to the mall and out to eat twice. I'd say she is doing awesome!
Let us know how things continue to go.

Bryan ~

Thank you so much for that uplifting 'report' on Pam's progress!  She certainly seems to be doing splendidly and that is very good news to all of us.  May her recovery continue apace!  :)
