Title: Who does what in surgery
Post by: nycnewbie on June 10, 2009, 08:22:28 pm
Hey Everyone,
I know that this might have been spoken of before, but is it usually that the neurosurgeon does opening and closing and tumor removal and ENT does drilling of inner auditory canal?
Or can both be involved in removing the tumor?

I think both are involved in removing the tumor. The neurosurgeon deals with the part of the tumor closer to the brain. I think that in translab, the ENT opens and closes. In retrosig and middle fossa it's the neurosurgeon that opens and closes.
