Title: Caregiver on TV Sunday morning
Post by: NancyMc on May 08, 2009, 03:11:38 pm
Yep, Dave, my caregiver and poster, will be (or at least his telescope design will be) on the CBS Sunday Morning show this Sunday, Mother's Day, at 9 am ET.  He was responsible for the design and pattern fabrication of the Vermont Garden Telescope.  We went over to Vermont for the day of taping, and by the time they got around to shooting his interview, it was so late, and he was so exhausted that he was barely functioning, so he may be on the cutting room floor.  But Fred and Russ mentioned his contribution during their portion of the interview.  Dave's website is nugentpatterns.com if you want to have a look.

Hi Nancy,

Scarlett and I went to the link you provided, clicked on the image of "The Porter Garden Telescope", and then played the video covering the fabrication of the telescope, which was very interesting.  Dave is in the video, very cool 8)  Please say hi to him for us.

We went back to the Home Page to look around, checking out the Gallery, Dave is obviously very talented.

Thank you for sharing this with us,

Rich & Scarlett

Well, Dave didn't make an appearance.  It's amazing how much effort they put into taping a show and then have about thirty seconds of actual air time.  But Dave is pleased because he was horrified at the thought of his performance going public.  The telescope looked pretty good, so he's hoping he'll get more design work from it.

Nancy, I did watch and it was interesting as didn't know the history of telescopes but was disappointed that no Dave.
My other thought of forum people is that Stoneaxe belongs in Better Homes and Gardens and have mentioned it to him.
