What with all our family tragedies and dramas these past few months, our taxes got put off to the very last minute. I got my college daughter's returns done while she was home over Easter, and just e-filed ours and my mother-in-law's (hers were the first following John's death last October).
What an immense relief! I tell you, I could kiss whoever developed TurboTax.

I use taxcut, but basically the same animal. I could kiss them too, but assuming it's a man, Lori would have more fodder for harrassing me :)
On a side note, I think Nancy got better meds than I did, at least it seems that way based on some of her recent posts ;D

Hi Sara! So glad you got your taxes done on time, and yes, it is such a relief.
(Good luck today to those who are still working on them!)
My husband has used Turbo Tax for a number of years.
This year, we really 'went out on a limb' and had a CPA prepare them for us, due to some issues we couldn't solve last year.
We were thrilled to return home from vacation, pick up the packet and sign our names on the dotted line.
It isn't cheap, but this go 'round, it was worth it.
Otherwise, we would be using Turbo Tax. I even had my daughter do her taxes while studying abroad in England.
The internet and (e-filing) is an amazing thing!

Turbo Tax is an amazing thing.
I'm an accountant and did my taxes - by hand - for many years, but finally converted to Turbo Tax about four or five years ago.
I highly recommend it to everyone!

I did mine on the TurboTax online web site. They fill everything in from last year's return, download my W2 from somewhere and update from it, and I manually update a few numbers like property tax, etc. Then they charge my card for doing the return, and the IRS dips into my checking account electronically. No paper, no checks, no stamps. I have a virtual job, with a virtual income, and pay virtual taxes. ;D

Dave does it all - I just spend the money we get back!!! ;D ::)

Happy Tax Day to all in the US!..(I know that's sounds like an oxy-moronic statement)
I agree with all who tout Turbo Tax. I'm a CPA, but still depend on Turbo Tax to do mine and some family members' taxes as well. Before Turbo Tax, I'd spend days getting ready to file, but with Turbo Tax walking thru everything, copying over prior year's info, etc....it's a snap to get done in a few hours.
