I got my hat Monday (after Steve mailed it Saturday) and I am just now getting a picture up! I'm glad I waited for the BLUE and didn't take the RED that you offered me first, Steve!! I LOVE it!! THANK YOU so much!!
K ;D

Another perfect hat by Steve, and another beautiful ANer with a hat! Way to go, it looks great on you!
Ernie
-
K: You look beautiful ! LOVE the Mona Lisa smile & the hat too !(Thank you Dr. Byrne ! !).
Always good thoughts, Nancy

Awesome, K!!! You, too, Steve! Amazing - I just love them!

Kaybo:
The hat looks great! Guess it's time to update your avatar.

Syl~
I tried and messed it all up - that's why there is nothing there now!! I thought I had it but I am obviously doing something wrong! HELP??
K
-
Hi K,
Don't use the img code like when embedding pictures in the message itself. Use the one that starts with http:// , it's called the direct link code.
I assume you are using photobucket or something similar?
Ernie
-
I love the hat, Steve did a great job and you look fabulous! Blue suits you!
-
Thanks Ernie!
I thought I had tried them all but I guess I missed that one!! Wha-la!
K
-
I look kind of smushed in the aviator picture - can I fix that??
K
-
K,
You would have to edit the picture (crop) to be square to begin with. Otherwise, it will squish it into a square. Photobucket has a cropping tool that you can use. You don't need to get it perfect, just close to square (eyeball it). If you need any help, let me know.

Kay,
Good call on waiting for the blue! That is definitely the right color for you! And you look fantastic, by the way! :)
What's the weather like in Texas today? You might look a bit out of place wearing a knit hat when it's 80 degrees out! Just for you, I'll hope for a cold front to come through!
Lori
-
Woo woo! Congrats on the hat! That's awesome! You look great!
Regards,
Brian

Kay ~
Cute hat, great photo. Thanks! :)
Our Steve is certainly an industrious milliner and spreading joy to many ANers, around the nation. Kudos to Steve and his many warm-headed 'customers'. ;D

Great hat Kaybo! I'm still waiting for Steve to learn to knit patterns so's I can have me a pink jolly roger knit into mine. (Or I'll take a black one wiv a pirate flag just sew onto it!) Great new avatar, too!

K- what a great hat! Steve, I continue to be impressed...Oh and K--you look fabulous!
Marci

Blue was the perfect choice! You look terrific. Steve, you just keep on spreading joy, one hat at a time. Pretty soon newbies to the site are going to think we are a cult ;D.

the blue was definitely the right choice - so beautiful with your eyes! I'm glad you passed on the red one - it probably looks better on DHM anyway - in light of her glasses & moustache LOL
Hmm, I have blue eyes too. Will have to contact Steve about making me another hat 8)
Yes, yes, I know, many others in line before my name comes up again :D
Hey, Lori, where are you on the hat list? Two-thirds of the comedy team have their hats already; we're waiting on yours.
Jan
PS to Capt. Deb - love the new picture of you and the pirate dog ;D
-
Kaybo,
I love how you look in your hat! I happen to check in yesterday for an update on Scott's (former) book project, and noted you mentioned as a potential contributor. Then saw your wonderful website about curly girlies.
Just wondering, who is Steve, and what is the deal with ANers in hats? Right after surgery almost nine years ago, I always wore a big Panama hat outside, to help keep the sun out of my eye.

Amazing picture Kay, and what an amazing hat Steve. Just wiping the tears in my eyes.
Such a lovely man!
Anne Marie

Very cool hat Kay and Steve. It goes well with the pearls. Looking great,Kay.

Just wondering, who is Steve, and what is the deal with ANers in hats?
That would be me, and the deal is that I knit hats for people. ;)
I suppose you want more explanation. I could say it started as a joke after we read The Friday Night Knitting Club in the now dormant AN Book Club, and then escalated to the point where I decided in January 2009 that I would actually start knitting hats. But I think I would rather just ask: why not knit hats for people? It is fun.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments on the hats. More are in the works, and I am always taking notes...

Just wondering, who is Steve, and what is the deal with ANers in hats?
Sunny Disposition Steve is this absolutely wonderful guy in my PDX ANA support group and one of our ANA on-line moderators who is winning the hearts of many... with his poetry and knit hats (known to Canadians as “toques) … his hats are magical and cure AN “wonky head moments.
He is one of those warm fuzzy kinda guys
Here is his poetry...
Steve is THE Renaissance man of our ANAUSA ;) :-*

Steve and DHM,
thanks for the speedy reply on "who is Steve" and "what's the deal with the hats". I loved the story of the book club and how it evolved to Steve knitting hats for people. Such a very nice thing to do. And the Christmas poem was hilarious.

I noticed when I was reading the latest posts to Donnalynn and Family you were wearing a "Steve original" and asked when you got it. Now I know ;D
Blue is definitely your color!
Steve - Nice hat!!! ;D Your fingers must be tired from all the knitting you're doing!

Steve,
You are being quite productive for just starting knitting in Jan 09. Great job :)
Kay, I love your pic, and your hat.

Lori there's a hat list???? ??? Oh Steve your hats are fabulous... I think you've got something here. First a scarf now a hat...
Looking good K!!! :-*
Michelle ;D
-
Michelle - how did we miss out on getting on the list? I guess I was too busy coming up with money-making ideas for the garage surgery business and you were too busy thinking about your tattoo!
Maybe we can get Stoneaxe to add body art to our garage business, and Steve can set up a table with handmade hats. Talk about one-stop shopping - this will be better than Walmart.
Lori
-
Kay,
You lucky girl - you got a Steve original! You look beautiful in the blue - and it does match your eyes!
Jan - I really thought your eyes were green - they must have picked up the color of your hat!
Kate - I think we met last month at the new LA support group meeting in Burbank. I was the one sitting over by the table with the food ;D with dark, curly hair. If it is you, we were both among the last few people to leave. Good to see you here!
Nancy
-
Nancy,
Yes, indeed, we did meet at the Los Angeles support group which met in Burbank. I am glad the meetings are starting up again, it was so inspiring and empowering to hear everyone's stories. It is nice to see you here, and I look forward to seeing you again at a meeting.

PS to Capt. Deb - love the new picture of you and the pirate dog ;D
That's me Sadie Lady. Purves's Sadie St John is her AKC name. All this talk of hats inspired me to post this new avatar pic. Alas the little dear has outgrown her jolly roger chapeau. She now weighs 85 pounds (was 11 pounds when this photo was taken!)

there's me Sadie Lady! (partly named by me?) :)
And as for the hat... them knitting fingers have been at it again, I see! Looks lovely on a very lovely lady! Great color and what a great pic! Thanks for sharing K! :-* :-*

Well, perhaps Steve can knit her a new one ;)

Steve must have known that we were still going to get another snow here in the Texas Panhandle!! We are under a Blizzard Warning (even though it is 70 now). We have a 100% chance of snow starting tonight and thru tomorrow and then the raging wind too!! I am SO glad I have a nice, warm hat to wear!! ;D
K
-
Snow? In Texas?? :o
It's in our forecast for Sunday, but snow is pretty routine for Chicago in March (unfortunately).
I'm hoping we won't get enough to shovel. I am SO done with shoveling :P
Glad I have a nice warm hat to wear, too!
Jan
-
It is now up to 11" of snow with 50-55 mph gusts of wind and zeto visibility! CRAZY!! :o
K
-
Sounds like I may have to send Pooter a hat too. I am sending one to Deb; maybe the puppy can wear it if it doesn't suit her. And I have noted that Michelle likes the Cranberry red. ;)

They have already cancelled school here for tomorrow - I grew up here and my parents taught here for 30+ years and I don't know of this EVER happening!! I was taking Kendie to (outdoor) soccer practice when we found out!! We were at a park with about 100 other kids - seriously! It was 66 when I was coming home from the pracitce! WILD!! Messed up the our Easter plans but we still will go to Houston - the girlies will just missed the day that we would have had out (built in "snow day"). Instead of using the one in MAY, they chose to make us make it up in a week - GREAT notice!!

Don't you just hate when that happens???
The kids are thrilled of course ::)

Here are the pictures of the hat in action! Thanks, Steve for helping keep my head warm!! ;D I think the last one is pretty centered for a self portrait! I will have more of the girlies up on my blog later!
K
-
I love the pictures Kay! Looks like you got your hat just in time!
Hope the girlies are having fun in all that snow! Looks like you sure were!
Lori
-
Can not believe you guys got that much snow down there - enjoy!?!? And, yes, you got your hat just in time for the blizzard...
Cindy
-
Kay: You're an 'angel in the snow.' I don't get to do that in Florida, but it sure brought back memories as a kid in NY.
The hat is the perfect color ! ! Thank you for sharing your pictures.
Always good thoughts, Nancy
-
Wow! That is some serious snow!
I love the picture of you in the chair, with the snow up to the height of the seat, and you lounging in the backyard as if it was July. 8)
Steve

Looks like you're having fun int he snow, Kay.
Thanks for the great pics :)
Maureen

Kay, your smile looks really great in that last picture. Are you still getting more improvement following your T3 surgery?

Great pics and I love your hat! We didn't get much snow this year and while I sometimes hate it, I also sometimes miss it -- go figure! Glad you got to have some snowy fun!!!
