Another pretty slow week. It features a House postie and a future House postie.
Tomorrow, Jean (Featofclay) from Mississippi is celebrating her two year anniversary of her Retrosig. Way to go, Jean. Have a great celebration.
Then on Wednesday, Sonya from Maryland is having surgery at St Vincents here in LA. Best wishes for a very successful surgery and a quick recovery, Sonya. Of course, Lainie, Nancy and I will be seeing you tomorrow and will wish you that in person.
I'd like to thank Sue for her suggestion for this week's AN adjective. If any of you has an adjective suggestion, please send them along.
Have a great week everyone.

Ohhh, this could be fun! Addi always has these spelling words that I have NEVER heard of (bombast??) that the teacher gets from the paper's word of the day. Maybe we can finally put some to use here!
Good luck to Sonya!

Hellacious made me think there would be lots and lots of activity on the AN calendar this week - you know, a week from hell.
So, I'm glad to see there are only two events and that one is already past.
Good luck Sonya and congratulations Jean.
And David, if you're looking for some interesting adjectives, I'd suggest PM'ing Jim Scott ;) :D
Jan

oh, I have a few adjectives up my short sleeves as well... but Jim and Sue, I'm sure, do fine without me! :D
Jean... oh, my! I can't believe it's this long now! Seems like yesterday! Congratulations to you!!!!!
Sonya, good vibes, good vibes, good vibes! Wellness wishes to you! You are in fab hands at HEI...... best wishes to you for a speedy recovery.

David ~
Thanks for another informative update. My very best wishes and good vibes go out to Sonya as well as my congratulations to Jean on her 2nd 'AN anniversary'.
I might add that another auspicious occasion occurs this week, apparently inadvertently overlooked by calendar companies, when I celebrate the completion of my 66th year on Wednesday, February 18th. According to my very optimistic son (age 29), "Hey, Dad, if you live to be 132, you're just hitting middle age". That young man is so droll, sometimes.
Adjective suggestions ? How about obstreperous, audacious, bizarre, preposterous, peculiar, challenging, poignant or, my favorite, courageous ? Lots of descriptive adjectives to go around. :)

Jean - Congratulations on your second ANniversary -- I hope you are doing well and have no long term problems.
Sonya -- Good luck on Wednesday -- you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope someone will be posting for you to let us know how you are.
David -- Thanks as always for the update.
Best wishes to all,
Wendy

Happy Birthday Jim. I hope you and your family have a wonderful celebration. Each year is a gift.

Happy birthday Jim(2 days early). I like your son's comment and optimism....I'll be 49 in a couple of months and hoping I haven't yet reached (my) middle age.
Patrick

Jim, you may need to send your optimistic son to remedial math class. I'm sorry to say that you would have to live to 132 to be middle-aged now.
Droll . . . now there is an adjective David could use next week.
Happy birthday to you!

Thanks, Sara. I've corrected the number on my post. I probably just didn't hear Chris (my son) correctly. SSD, you know. ;)
Jim

I don't know, Jim, SSD or not, the parent is always right! Don't we wish.
Have a great day.
Sara

David,
Take me off next week's calendar. If I tried to do it, I might break down in tears.
And have a wonderful birthday tomorrow, Jim.
Nancy

Thanks for the endemic updates, David! Really - Best to Sonya, and happy anniversay Jean.
And Happy Birthday to Jim. I just got off the phone with my mother, whose birthday is today and I recanted a visiting priest's greeting to the congregation. He was foreign, so everyone (even those not SSD were straining to understand him) and he began like this: "I visited this church years ago when I was young, and look good; now here I am older....and looking better!" I thought some people might fall out of the pew! Let us all approach the next year with such "abject humility" (borrowed from a post of Jim's awhile back - made me get out the dictionary to figure out if verb or adj. and meaning)!
Good Day,
Jules
-
David,
Maybe we should chip in and buy you your very own thesaurus!
And Jim, a very happy birthday to you. February 18 was my dad's birthday too - but he had quite a few years on you! I hope you have a great day with lots of cake!
Lori

There is a good online thesaurus at www.thesaurus.com
I'd like to say it is free, but our broadband connection costs too much for me to claim that.

As always, thanks for the updates David.. My best to you, Sonya.. Congratulations Jean! And, Happy Birthday, Jim..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JIM!!!
I wanted to wait until TODAY to actually wish you a HAPPY day and MANY more!! ;D ;D

Happy Birthday, Jim. Since things are kind of winding down now back east, hope it was a good one.
And about the Thesaraus -- I got a bunch of them -- even a paperback version. Sue just gave me the idea that it might be fun to get everyone involved.
-
Happy belated birthday, Jim ;D
I wish I could come up with a more interesting adjective than "belated" but I don't have a thesaurus on hand. I'll have to borrow David's next time ;)

So it seems that there was another event this week -- one that didn't make it to the calendar. But a big deal none the less. Today is Lori's 2nd ANniversary!!!! Of all places, I had to find out on Facebook. I think Lori didn't put it on the calendar because she's shy and knew that we would make a big deal out of it ;D.
Way to go Lori!
-
Lori, shy?? Yea, me too! Congratulations, Lori ;D
Speaking of things missing from the AN Calendar, is Kaybo's birthday listed? I know it's coming up in March.
And Wendy - when if your Divino Day? Or are you scheduled for an Intenso?
I haven't been accessing the calendar lately - I guess I just rely on David to keep me up to date ;) - but last time I looked I didn't see either of these events.
Jan
-
Yes. that's probably what it was... shyness on my part. Couldn't possibly be that I just forgot to put it on the calendar until the last minute! :-[
I'm pretty sure the doctor removed my internal calendar with the AN because I can never keep track of things anymore - birthdays, anniversaries.... not even my own.
But thank you David and Jan. Feel free to make a big deal if you want! Expensive gifts are always nice! :D
Lori

Lori~
I told u on FB that I thought diamonds were in order...I didn't mention that I think this should be a gift from James!!!
K
-
Well, I don't have much luck getting diamonds from James, so I thought I'd try something else. I guess that's not going to work either....back to the drawing board.
Lori
-
Lori:
A belated but sincere congratulations on your 2nd 'anniversary'.
I spent all my money on a Christmas present to my wife (a diamond ring) but if we ever meet, perhaps at an AN symposium (not this year's, I can't make it), I'll buy you a drink, alcoholic or otherwise - your choice. Not much - but the best I can do. Well, that and my appreciation for your contributions to the forums, which is intangible but abundant...and very real. :)
Jim
-
Thanks Jim!
A nice compliment is worth more than a diamond ring anyday! ;D
Lori
-
What, Lori???!!!
You didn't get those diamonds I sent you??? :o
The post office must have lost them - and unfortunately after paying for them I just didn't have enough money for insurance :(
Damn!
Jan
-
Maybe that big package of diamonds wound up with the newsletter I never got in October????? ???
