Title: Facial fillers as a remedy for drooping cheek
Post by: video272 on January 29, 2009, 02:22:41 pm
Has anyone had any experience with insurance coverage for facial fillers or other facial surgery to address the issue of an asymetrical facial appearance?

Hi there video:  I had T3 surgery for my right sided facial paralysis.  The insurance company (Cigna) did not pay for the left side facelift & brow lift needed.  The funny, or not so funny thing is, insurance companies will pay for a woman who gets breast reconstruction post mastectomy to have a 'lift', etc. on the non-affected breast (who sees this but the pt. & significant other?), but they won't pay for surgery on the unaffected side of an asymmetric face (which is seen by everyone !)  Go figure.
Always good thoughts,  Nancy

Video~
I had the exact same experience as Nancy...at the same place!  My insurance paid 100% of surgery on AN side but not a dime to do the other side so it would be symmetrical!
