Gidday ANers!!!
This morning had my yearly checkup with the specialist/neurosurgeon. My MRI was done in early Dec of 2008, with the report saying that the mass had enlarged slightly...I have been a nervous wreck since Dec..thinking oh great another round of radiation..uurrgghh..Saw the specialist today and he was quite pleased with the result. With radiation the cells swell because of the injury pertained which would explain the slight enlargement..So my heart beats and skips joyfully..next year the remaining tumour should either stay the same or shrink. The tumour should be dead, and wont disappear so I'll always have a mass.
I have not seen my specialist since the beginning of last year..and he was quite astounded at the improvement in my face..Hey I can't do a smile but at resting tone my face looks symmetrical..its only when I speak..Fingers crossed that I have more improvement..Confirmation the tumour was 6cm, I thought it was 5.8 or something..oh well I am my specialists biggest tumour he has ever seen, not a record I myself would be proud to flaunt..His discription when he first saw my MRI back in 2007 was the size of a fist..I should now be dead..but oh no.. I'm here annoying you guys..he..he...
I am all smiles although crooked, :D :D :D :D Happy with the results!! So people out there don't give up..hey the dr didn't expect any improvement from last year, but it came maybe late.. but it still came. It is a long road to recovery. Waiting is the killer..just waiting but trust me, give it time let your nerves grow regenerate, it won't happen over night though I wish it would, but it will happen!!!
Take care all you ANers thought I would share my good news with you.. :) :) :) :) :) :)
