Carter -

this is what worked for me.

Go to http://photobucket.com and sign up - it's free.

Once you move your photos to photobucket, it's easy to copy the image.  Look for a series of boxes under each photo that say "email & IM", "direct link", "HTML code" and "IMG code"  Position your mouse on IMG code and left click.  A yellow box that says "copied" will appear.

Next go to the forum and create a new subject.  In the text of the post, just right click with your mouse and chose "paste".

You will see a set of brackets with the letters IMG in them and the address of your photobucket photo inserted between the brackets.

If you have numerous photos to post, just copy and paste each IMG code.

If you want to check and make sure your image(s) copied correctly, just "preview" your message before you hit "post" and you should see your photo in the preview box.

Good luck,

Jan

PS - if you don't want your pictures to be large, you can resize them in photobucket and make them smaller.

Incidentally, you can rotate your pictures on Photobucket too.  :)  It may take a few minutes (or hours) to show up correctly here, but it does do it.

I got frustrated too.  Even after turning it at Photobucket, it still showed up caddywampus (there's a northern Texas word for you!) here..  I came back the next day to find it turned.  I can only surmise that it just takes a bit to take affect.  Glad it helped!

Brian

Rats, I thought I was getting credit for something I didn't do. Oh well, easy come, easy go.  ::)

thanks for these seemingly simple instructions. one of these days i'll get around to actually posting my photo.

thank you also for the correct spelling of 'caddywampus'. i'm from texas too, use this word somewhat regularly but have never known how to spell it.

just two more reasons why the AN forum is the greatest!

oh my goodness, I've used that word all my life! My family is from the south and I always figured it was a southern word. It's one of those words that you seldom see written down, but I always thought it was spelled "cattiwampus." It means to be a bit off center or crooked (in a directional sense) and I guess it's related to "catti-cornered," which means diagonal. I don't use either word in New Jersey, by the way.

HA HA HA!  Actually, there are several spellings used.  See:  http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=caddy%20wompus (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=caddy%20wompus).  Cattywompus is there as a spelling to look up also.  Aren't you glad I didn't say gullywasher!  I'm showing my southern roots, and I'm proud of it!  ;)

I'm from Missouri and did not think a thing of your using the term caddywampus until the discussion started.

Haha.  I told Jenni about the thread, and she replied "So, did you come back and say 'egads and little horse fishies!' ?".  See?  I'm not the only hick around!

Pooter -

you definitely win the prize for the weirdest sayings  :D

The only thing I've heard that comes even close to this is the expresion "I'm going to have to open a can of whoop ass"

Yea!  I won the prize!  Can I stow away on the cruise now?  :)  I'm sure I have many more, but their so commonplace for me around here that it's tough to come up with them.  I think the biggest kick I got was when in Pittsburgh as a child, one of my friends was thoroughly convinced that we all have oil fields in our back yard and that we ride horses to school.

Yeah, I'll give you my spot in Sue's luggage.  I'm too busy to go on a vacation right now anyway.

Besides, I'm kind of becoming partial to the sub-zero temps here in Illinois  ;)  And the snow is just lovely this time of year - shoveled 12 inches just the other day and more is on the way  ::)

Have a Mai Tai for me
