May i ask how long of time past from your consultation /agreement to proceed with CK until you had the proceedures scheduled? From scheduling , what was the time span until they were started?
thanks

In my husband's case, it took him 9 months to decide on which treatment and then only 2-1/2 weeks to CK - a week before treatment, he did have to be set up with mask and MRI scan, etc.

I went out of state for treatment so the interval from consultation to treatment was a bit different I imagine. I live in the south and went to DC. Consultations were in mid 11/07 and treatment 1/08. I was told it would take at least 3 weeks for planning but waited until after the holidays to make the trip.

I did CK at Stanford, which is out of state for me. At the time of verbal agreement, we scheduled it about 1 month ahead. It took maybe 10 days to get the insurance squared away, then I booked the flight.

When my first followup MRI in watch and wait mode showed my tumor had grown quickly, I scheduled CK for about six or seven weeks later (at Stanford). I could've gotten in within two weeks, I was told, but had business affairs to deal with that prompted me to put it off.

Mine is the same as Steves. After I agreed, I waited until insurance was on board which took less than a week. I could have had it done in 2 weeks, but opted for a month due to the past holidays.

Like Sheryl... I made my decision, we confirmed insurance coverage same week and was booked for CK approx 2-3 wks later. Hardly had time to let it sink in that my decision process was done.

Congratulations, Carter. You'll be happy once treatment is finished. The hardest part for me (emotionally, not physically) was deciding on treatment -- what type, when and where -- and going through the treatments. After that, I felt like I had a weight taken off my shoulders.
Best wishes,
