Hi all,
well, the CK center in London (details below), according to the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7791315.stm), is going "live" in London in February. Another potential CK center possibly in the works as well. I know many here have inquired about when CK would be coming to the UK....... well, it's here!

I think the Harley Street clinic is scheduled to be open within the first half of 2009. Here is the address and contact information:
Cancer Centre, 81-83 Harley Street, London W1G 8PP, UK, Telephone + 44 (0)20 7935 7700, http://www.theharleystreetclinic.com/news-item.php?news_id=7
This is unconfirmed but I think there is supposed to be another CK installed in the UK but I don’t know where the site is supposed to open.
Hopefully this will be enough. If people want to learn about the technology or treatment, tell them about the www.cyberknife.com site where there is an entire section on intracranial lesions.

So I guess the best way for a city to get a new Cyberknife facility is to invite Phyl for a visit! :D
I'm glad to see that CK has arrived in the UK. I hope there are more every year.

Phyl:
Thanks for the heads-up on the new CK facility in London. This should certainly be an asset for AN patients in the U.K. Assuming the 'word' gets out and local doctors will concede that irradiation is a viable, proven treatment for acoustic neuroma patients and not something 'experimental' and/or 'risky'. Unfortunately, and too often, this tends to be the inflexible attitude taken by some surgery-oriented physicians when confronted by 'new' technology that changes the playing field for a specific type of condition. We'll see - and hope for the best while doing what we can to spread the word that CK is available in the U.K. for those that qualify and want to employ that procedure.

Hello all,
Although this is indeed good news, apparently it will not be used to treat AN's (may bow under pressure though I suppose!).
