Hello All:
I live in the Los Angeles area and thought it would be nice to connect with other recovering or newly-diagnosed ANers on a regular basis, perhaps at a comfortable low-key diner or coffee shop, for some conversation and fellowship. Perhaps we could convene once every couple of months or on a quarterly basis.
If you might be interested in participating in such a gathering, please respond or drop me a PM and I will put a little list together and set something up.
Regards,
Francesco

Hi Francesco,
I think that's a wonderful idea - count me in. Besides the other LA ANers on the forum, I know a couple of others not active on the forum who may also be interested.
Thanks for putting this together,
Nancy L

Francesco, I didn't know you lived in LA. I'm all in favor of us getting together. Nancy, Lainie and I have been visiting ANers at St Vincents when they have a break from their pre-surgery physical -- sort of moral support and to answer questions. But it would be fun to get a group together. What part of town are you in?
David

dang! :o I'd be there in a New York minute, if possible... sounds like a great idea. You've all been salivating over the NE Forum Apple Dumplin' gang brunch.... it's been a while since you all last had one. I think Mark and marystro and some of the gang got together a year or so ago in S. CA..... you all are overdue. Thrilled you are organizing this. Have a fab time!

Excellent! I'm headed out of town for Thanksgiving week but I will set something up when I return. David, I'm in the Bev Hills/West Hollywood area. And Phyl, you will be an honorary Angeleno, always welcome at our gatherings....
Happy thanksgiving all.

Hello All:
I would like to propose a brunch gathering on Sunday, December 14 at 12:30 p.m. at Jerry's Deli on Beverly Blvd., near the Beverly Center. Jerry's is huge and there are always plenty of large tables available. There's also a back area that is relatively quiet and a good place to linger and talk.
Here are the details:
What: Los Angeles Area AN Brunch
When: Sunday, December 14, 12:30 p.m.
Where: Jerry's Deli West Hollywood
8701 Beverly Blvd.

I hope we have a great turnout and look forward to meeting you guys.
Drop me a line if you plan to be there.
Thanks!
Francesco
PS Marci, we will certainly shoot to arrange a January gathering around the time of your visit to LA or if anything, I would be glad to meet up with you for coffee or something. Keep us posted on your travel plans.

Hey Francesco
Count me in. I love Jerry's. The only bad thing about it is deciding what to order. Nancy? Lainie?

Francesco,
Seems like we'll have both Rick and Marci in town at the same time in January. We may have to start planning next month's get together while we all have our calendars with us tomorrow!
See you at Jerry's!
Nancy
-
Well, the LA group had its first meetup at Jerry's this afternoon and based on the data I compiled at that gathering, I have reached the following scientific conclusion: only fantastic people get Acoustic Neuromas! David, Lainie and Nancy, It was a great pleasure meeting you. I look forward to our next gathering, hopefully in January.
Francesco

Oh, that sounds like so much more fun that sitting around watching snow turn to ice. It is cold up here in Portland!
Steve
-
Thanks Francesco. It was great meeting you as well. And I'd have to agree, we are a pretty good group of people. My daughter even commented on that. She enjoyed meeting everyone her dad talks about.
And Steve, it was even cold in LA today. We actually had to break out sweaters. And I do remember those days growing up in Pittsburgh watching snow turn to ice. So much fun to drive on.

No pictures???????????? ???

Francesco,
It was fantastic meeting you today. As always David and Nancy great to see you both. You guys really cheered me up, and yes we are special. I am going to go and put a log on the fire as I think it is going to reach a " bone chilling " 58 tonight, Ha Ha. I Love LA.
Lainie.
-
Better than pictures, Anne Marie -- a movie! Maybe. Lainie? Need any help? Check with Francesco. I'm a techno-dud.
And Lainie, please keep us posted.
David
-
David,
I will try and download video tomorrow, and you looked marvelous.
Lainie.
-
Lainie, as actors know, it must have been the lighting. But as a patient of Theresa England's, I do have to admit, she is doing great work with both of us. Make sure to tell her this week and I will do the same.
David

Francesco,
Yes, it was such a pleasure to meet you today. And David and Lainie, a great time, as always. As usual, we ran out of time before running out of conversation!
And I must say, after spending the morning at a wedding where I had to constantly try to position myself to hear all that was being said, it was SO GREAT to walk up to a table where the first thing people say is, "OK...where do you need to sit?" It's so nice to be with such an accommodating group!
Anne Marie, they did take a short video, but I've also got a good old-fashioned "still" photo taken by David's daughter. ;) (Sorry I didn't get a pic of Britannia!)
David and Lainie - you both look marverlous...I should forward this photo to Theresa Engalnd. :)

WOW!!!! Everyone looks marvelous darlings..... ;D
Francesco so nice to see your handsome smiling face. I just love putting a face with a name!
Can't wait to see the "movie" ::)
Anne Marie
-
looks like a lovely bunch and Laine must have been hungry nothing left on her plate :D,
Hope to see you guys in the new year
Rick
-
Hey Rick, the empty plate was the communal fries. Are you by any chance like me a "Brit" or an Aussie ? Be careful what you say because you will be at a disadvantage when we come to visit you, at House. Who is your surgeon? By the way I posted the Video of myself, David, Nancy and Francesco on this page titled LA group [ I think ]
Lainie
-
Are you by any chance like me a "Brit" or an Aussie ?
Is it that obvious? :o
Booked in with Dr. Freidman and Schwartz
-
Great photo guys,
Hopefully my wife and i will be visiting your fair land next year (your fall). I'd love to catch up.
Laz
-
Hi Rick,
yes it is that obvious. Great surgical team. Look forward to meeting you.
Lainie
-
Hey Cheri
The photographer was my daughter, Britannia. She just happened to be in Hollywood that day and swung by to meet the group.
And about the plates, the one in front of Francesco is actually Lainies. Francesco's is the empty one to the far right. We're at Jerry's Deli -- several of them around LA. Great food.
The next movie we make will be a bit more organized. And could have Rick and Marci in it as well.
Hope all is well.
David
