I am curious. I am now 4 1/2 years since my surgery. I still have issues with buzzing in my AN ear, headaches and facial twitches that are beyond annoying to myself. Is anyone else still experiencing these type of issues... if not when did they clear up for you.????

Hi there Ray: I'm only 2 years 4 months post op, but I still have constant tinnitus ( I find it gets louder if I'm dehydrated ); I don't have facial twitches since I have right facial paralysis ( I'm so glad to read you DO have twitches ! ! ).
I only had headaches a couple of months post op, but lately am having right frontal lobe headaches ( behind the right forehead ), they're mild but frequent.
As far as these issues clearing up, I think the tinnitus will be forever ( I've had it for so many years it's like white noise ). Everyone's different re: headaches, but I would let my PCP or specialist know that they're continuing. & facial twitches are wonderful news ! !
Always good thoughts, Nancy

I was told that it would be permanent. The sounds are actually your brain trying to connect to the ear even though they sound like it is coming from the ear. My nerve was severed during the surgery and I think the "white noise" that is constant is better (or I've gotten used to it) but I still get really loud sounds that sound like cymbals crashing when I hear a sudden or unexpected noise. I also have the roaring when I've been in a noisy place. Unfortunately I don't think it goes away.
