Hey everyone,
My wife just had her 6 month after AN diagnosis follow-up MRI. We meer with Neuro on the 14th. MRI last Tuesday, nurse called today (Monday) and said her tumor appeared stable. Because we are meeting with the neurotologist in a coupld of weeks, my wife didn't ask many questions of the MRI call.
Since patience is not one one of my virtues, here I am asking what your take on stable might mean to you? I have to believe that stable means no measurable growth or change in the tumor. My lovely betrothed has not presented any advanced changes or symptoms.
I appreciate any input or response. Will post back of neuro meeting.
Safety & blue skies,

Jeff:
I'm not a doctor, obviously, but to me, an MRI report using the word 'stable' to describe a tumor means exactly what you think it means: no growth or shrinkage. Hence, no new symptoms. This is good.

DJ,
I agree with Jim that "stable" means no growth.

I'm with Jim and Syl. I'd take this to mean that nothing has changed - AN is still the same size.

Jeff,
Just went to my primary yesterday for my bi-yearly checkup. I asked him did he get the neuro last report, which I knew was no growth in my tumor. He said yes and said it was stable, no growth.

I'm with everyone else on this one; stable means that there has been no significant change since last time they saw it. I wish nothing but the best for ya. Let us know when you meet with the neuro.

This one from Dorland's Medical Dictionary
stabile stable; stationary; resistant to change; opposed to labile. Hope this helps too.
