To Those who inquired:
I had my MRI this morning and although my neurosurgeon didn't have the lab report as yet, he looked at and measured the images and determined that there was some slight shrinkage (approximately 2 mm) and definite necrosis (a large dark spot on the remaining tumor). He put me through the usual neurological exam and said I did 'splendidly'. He is very pleased with the outcome of my surgery and radiation. He said I may have annual MRI scans, now, as opposed to the semi-annual scans I had been getting. Obviously, this MRI report is very good news. Doctor and patient (and patient's family) are all quite pleased.
Following the MRI/doctor visit, my wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary with a delicious seafood dinner at a restaurant on the Connecticut seashore. I'm blessed and life is good. :)
Thanks for the well-wishes, expressions of concern and general attention many gave to this event in my recovery. Your interest is appreciated and your concern, humbling. I'll try to live up to the kind words some have sent my way, as I labor to help others battling the physical and emotional demons associated with an Acoustic Neuroma. May God bless you all.

shrinkage and necrosis - two very beautiful words ;D
And an annual MRI as opposed to a biannual one. I'll bet your insurance company is going to love that! ;)
Glad your results were so positive!!!

Please let me "ditto" your neurosurgeon--"splendid"! Always good news to hear of shrinkage and necrosis. You are there for all of us with uplifting words of encouragement and support. It's "payback" time Jim! May you have increasing necrosis and congratulations on 38 years of marriage--a quantity of years that is "uncommon" these days, that speaks for the quality of the marriage!
