Many thanks to all Kathleen's caring friends on the AN network! I just spoke with Marty and the news continues to be very positive for Kathleen. Although she is uncomfortable with dizziness, some nausea, and a painful headache (all of which her doctors say are "normal"), she is alert and her spirits are positive. Last evening was clearly a painful time for her, as she continued to need significant pain medication. However, Marty spoke with both her doctors this morning and they continue to be pleased with the outcome. They do not see any signs of facial paralysis and her face seems to be moving fine. The doctors hope to have Kathleen up for a short walk this afternoon, and to move her from the ICU. Marty hopes that she will get a lot of rest today and continue to make progress in her recovery.

while all AN patients can experience different things post op, Kathleen's "issues" are definitely normal.
I'm hoping she's out of ICU soon and in a regular room.

She's doing great, that's awesome news! Jan's right; we all have our own "issues" post-op, but the things you've said so far sound normal based on my own experience. I'm glad their gonna have her up for a walk today! That's great news!

I agree with Jan and Brian.
Kathleen may not be entirely comfortable but she seems to be doing fairly well, all things considered. I pray that her headache and dizziness will abate quickly and that, with time and lots of rest, she'll be up and running (metaphorically) soon. :)
