Hi Guys, Fabian here to give you a brief report on Trish's surgery.
Surgery was about 10 hrs, most of the tumor was removed. She is doing OK but obviously it will take her some time to recover.
Thanks evreybody for your continuos support. All this has been a bit overwelming but I am sure things will go back to normal soon. We will provide more updates later.

Thanks for posting, Fabian--folks were getting very antsy not knowing how Trish is doing.
Glad she's safely out of surgery (which sounds as though it was quite a marathon--you are exhausted too, no doubt!. Very best wishes to her for lots of healing so she can go home with you and Cali!

Thanks, Fabian.
I'm glad to hear Trish is OK. Some of the retro sigmoid surgeries do get long like that. She will get better every hour and every day. Take it nice and easy and both of you get as much rest as you can. All our best to Trish.

Thank you so much for posting, Fabian.
As cmp said, we were starting to get antsy.
Glad to hear Trish is okay, and you are right it does take time to recover. But as Steve said, Trish will get better every day - I know this from personal experience :)
Take care of yourself, make sure you get some rest and give our best to "postie" Trish.

I am glad Trish is doing well after surgery. I had marathon (12 hrs) recently (May 8th) and can speak from experience that it will take some time for her to get back to normal. Its been about a month and I still am at home. But, I am making progress each day, and she will too. Give her a hug from all of us. We are thinking of her.

Fabian - thanks so much for updating us! As you can see, we are like a bunch of nervous parents with each other. Tell Trish to get lots of rest (and you do the same!) and concentrate on healing. As everyone else has said, each day will get better, but it is a slow process.
hugs to you both,
Debbi

Great to hear some news on Trish! Thank you for remembering us, Fabian. We appreciate it. Especially since we know you're probably exhausted yourself about now.
Tell Trish we can wait til she's home and on the mend and give Cali a big hug!!

Fabian:
Great news - and thanks for posting. It sounds as if Trish's surgery was relatively uneventful. Good! Let's hope her recovery goes just as well, as I'm sure it will. Give Trish our collective well-wishes and tell her we look forward to having her here as a 'postie'.:)

I say Dr Rutka today and received another nerve block for the scar neuroma. I might need an out patient procedure next to remove the tumour and scrap down the bone. The bone has grown slightly deformed which is adding to my troubles.
Dr Rutka said Trish is doing well and was quite pleased over "our" concern for her. I reinforced how wonderful this forum is.

Thanks for checking up on Trish. We're so darn nice around here!! ;D
I hope that if you do wind up needing the outpatient procedure, it takes care of your pain once and for all.

Fabian here. It is thursday night around 8 pm. Three days after surgery Trish is resting and feeling a little weak. They removed 98% of the tumour leaving a little bit on the facial nerve. Weakness on the left side but she can close her eye with much concentration. Face is numb but it's suuposed to be temporary. She has been a little dizzy and experienced double vision. Walked today with help of walker and therapist. Excpect to be here for a couple of more.days. She is very grateful for all your replies and concern and will update more when she is able.

Hi Fabian,
It all sounds like par for the course to me. There was a discussion recently about short term double vision after surgery - lots of people had that. If Trish can already move her eyelid a little, it sounds like the facial issue may be temporary as well, which would be very good news. With a 10 hour surgery she may need a week or more just to start moving around on her own. Be patient, don't stress, and get lots of rest, it sounds like she is going to do fine.
Take care,
Steve

Hi Fabian -
Glad to hear Trish is doing well. I can't comment on surgery end of things as I have not yet had mine, but I do know from my research fatigue is absolutely the norm Hopefully, she'll see a little improvement in how she feels every day. Hope you and Cali are well too.
