Hi All,
After a crazy week and a half of busy full time work, a sick baby (gastro virus), family in town (my dad and his wife), and all the regular day to day stuff, i find myself staring surgery between the eyes. It is tomorrow morning.
"OUT DAMN SPOT"!
I don't find myself scared or nervous. Just hoping to wake up sometime tomorrow afternoon and not find the world so much different than i left it. Rather, not find myself so much different (minus one not so little tumor of course!!).
I have asked my hubbie Fabian to post here and let you all know how i am doing.
The people here who have touched my life these past few months have been a source of great information, courage and comfort. I want to say a special THANK YOU to those of you who have been kind enough to answer my unsolicitated emails, respond to my various posts, chat with me on the phone, engage in regular email dialogues (and friendships!) outside of this site, etc. Each of you knows who you are and, i hope, how grateful i am. It is a powerful thing to find support from people who are, for a time, strangers, but over time friends. This is one of the many blessings this experience has given me.
I hope this finds you all well and better than yesterday.
with heartfelt thanks,
Trish

Trish:
Thank you for the very kind and moving comments. I can guarantee you that they are much appreciated by many. You are a special person.
Of course you know there'll be many people praying for and/or thinking about you and sending hugs and good wishes your way on Monday.
I know the waiting has attenuated your patience and that the surgery will almost be welcomed in order to get it behind you and begin the healing process. I very much hope that all will go smoothly and you'll have an uncomplicated surgery and a speedy recovery.
Thanks for convincing your husband Fabian to post updates. That is very much appreciated. Please thank him on our behalf.
Now, rest up, try to remain positive and know that you are not going through this alone. Good luck, Trish. :)

I've only been here a short time, but wanted to wish you the best of luck. I'll be anxiously awaiting updates from your husband. I'll be praying for you and for your surgical team and nurses as well. Can't wait to see you after you're home and up to posting again :)
-
Trish,
I'll be keeping you and your family in my prayers. Best wishes and wellness to you!

Trish,
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. I don't think you'll find yourself too much different when you wake up - The surgery might change a few things, but it can't change what's on the inside - you'll still be the caring person and great mom you were before.
Thank your hubby in advance for keeping up updated. I hope Cali is feeling better too.
See ya in postie-land..

Trish-
I will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending you many good thoughts. And, I think you will find that although some of the things in your world may sound and bit different, you will still be the same wonderful person and the things in your life that are really important will remain unchanged.
You have made many friends here on this forum (I am one of them) and we are all going to be cheering you on tomorrow, and anxiously waiting for updates.
If you are in one of the hospitals where you get to walk into the OR, go forth with a big smile and lots of confidence.
OUT DAMN SPOT!!!!
all the best,
Debbi

I like that "OUT DAMN SPOT" ;D
I wasn't nervous or scared the day before surgery either; I actually had a kind of peaceful feeling. It sounds like you are ready for this.
I agree with what Lori said - which was echoed by Carrie and Steve :)
Best wishes for a successful surgery and short recovery - and a big thank you to Fabian for agreeing to update us.
See you on the postie side ;)

Many best wishes Trish. My prayers are with you. If you're anything like I am, you'll wake up in a tangle of tubes craving ice chips. And soon you'll be holding your beautiful baby. You'll be fine. See you soon as a postie.

Hi Trish, I am still waiting for your husband Fabian's update.
I hope everything went well wiith the surgery and that you are doing ok.
Trish and I have the same doctors. In fact, I was meeting with Dr Guha early Monday morning when you were already in the hospital waiting for surgery. Guha and Rutka are great doctors. I am next in line for surgery in a couple of weeks. LizH
