Title: Northern California advice
Post by: KellyOakland on May 01, 2008, 11:07:40 pm
I was diagnosed with a Vestibular Schwannoma today through an MRI.  The information I've researched on the internet tells me this is another name for Acoustic Neuroma.   I am currently awaiting a consultation from either Neurosurgery or Ears, Nose, Throat specialists.

I would appreciate any recommendations about doctors in Northern California or anyone's experience dealing with Kaiser.

Thank you,

Kelly

Kelly,

Welcome!

Please elaborate more on size, location (shape and if you know about possible AN pressing on a brainstem) and whether you are considering CK (or GK) or more invasive procedures.  You will know more data once you have your consultations.  Try and get a few opinions.  Hopefully, you'll meet with a few specialists and post the information to the forum, here.

As you can see, I used Stanford and I'm still pleased with their demeanor, help and professional treatment there.

My ENT is in Santa Cruz, California.  I'm more than satisfied with their help in that office.

My insurance is Aetna!

Thank you and post more info for us to work with you........

i live in the bay area and my insurance is PPO, and I was referred to Stanford's Dr Robert Jackler and House Ear's Dr Brackmann (in LA).  Both are excellent and have many years experience.
