All of the sudden the song, "Back in the Saddle Again" resonates throughout the AN community:-)

David, I am glad that life is getting back to normal and that you rode your horse today.

Ready if truth be known I hadn't slowed down at all, that evening after having the surgery we got a 25yr flood (11 in of rain)on top of the 20 in of rain for the month of March, anyway my driveway is rather long (1/2 mile) washed out to the point of almost being impassable so I had to get out and try and fix the drainage problems with the tractor, then had a tree blow over due to the ground being so wet accross a main fence so I had to lug the chainsaw and chop that up and repair the fence so there went the 10lb rule. My girlfriend did help me but was fussing at me for overworking, she called my boys but both were working up in NW Ark and couldn't get free.

Well funny u mentioned that, I'm going to a training class in  San Francisco at the end of the month and then at the end of May going to Jamaica on a fun trip.

Haven't been to Jamaica in years; wish it were me  :)

Going to the Jersey shore in July with my kids and to Minneapolis in August for work.

Somehow that doesn't sound as good as Jamaica  ::)

DPetty

Way to go re getting back on a horse!
This is encouraging for me to read.

Well I got the bike riding thing back to the normalcy I had pre-surgery but the truth is I am still too nervous to get back on a horse. I am very aware that I now have a hole in my head and this can create a stress point if I was to fall. This puts me (and other craniotomy folks) at a higher risk of skull fracture.

Do you were a helmet when you ride? If you do does your helmet cover the craniotomy hole location? I had to really shop around to get my bike helmet and I do not even know where to start to find a riding (re horses) helmet that would work.

When I am on a bike I know I am in control. On the horse- well you have to really know and fully trust the horse. Although I do have a farm I do not have my own horse and would probably go to a stable or ranch once I find a helmet and muster up the nerve to ride again.

I am not sure my bike helmet would suffice as a riding helmet.

Thoughts?

No helmet, sometimes a baseball cap or cowboy hat.

I should note Daisy I am a tad over 6yr out from my AN surgery so I doubt I would be riding much if I were freshly operated on.

Jan it will be good to get away for a bit, nothing better for the soul and mind than those tropical breezes.....

Well looked at my adbutment incision this morning and it has healed up, guess all those years of vitamins has paid off as right after my AN surgery I never missed a day of taking them. I hadn't been on the forum in a week or so and just wondering how everyone is doing.

Glad to hear it  ;D

I'll never tell  ;)

Actually if the doc had given me my processor, there is no way I'd be able to keep it in the box until he gave me the okay to wear it.
