I have an AN on my right side. Today I have noticed occasional ringing on my left side???? My MRI last month showed nothing on my left side. The ringing was quick & didnt last long but noticable. Has this happened to anybody else????

Hi mindy,
I think if you look down the page a little you'll find a topic already disscusing this particular problem, I know it was me that asked the question, but just to let you know, yes I have on several occasions experianced this same ringing in the opposite ear.
hope the already running disscusion helps.

I have persistant ringing in both ears all the time. Somewhat dissappointed to hear that surgery may not change that. Still weighing options & doctors for my surgery.

thank you Cheryl I will look for that.

Do you have AN only on one side? Your considering surgery or radiation?

Yep .. AN side its constant .. the left *good* side ... once in a blue moon I will get it for a couple of sec.... scary thing is --- that's how my AN side was about 20+ years ago ...

Yes, occasionally it really "goes off" and then fades and stops. Sometimes all it take is to sort of rub my ear to make it stop, as if it's caused by a fluid imbalance. The AN side however, never stops ringing and hissing.

Hi Mindy,
Sorry to be so late to this party, have been off for awhile. I decided not to wait - I'm 61 years old & feel I'm as healthy today as I'll ever be - better for surgery now in my mind. I also don't want to waste any more time worrying about it - so I'll take my chances with the side effects. Not kidding you, I'm still scared witless - but learning to manage better. Have pretty much decided to go to MassEye&Ear for surgery after the holidays.
I have had ringing in both ears consistently for a long time. So did my father, so I just assumed it was normal aging. As I write this note, I have strong ringing in my non-AN side. Such a circle of events.
