Well, OP no 8 or 9 maybe, lost count somewhere....
I am having the small eyelid lift OP on Mon
(the one to improve dry eye etc etc)
- a small OP by my standards - but you never know
sadley, no mermaids this time
(well not planned.... anyway)
Oh and been at work 5 weeks full time now
Quiet month really...
Best Regards

Hi there Tony...
Very best wishes for a successful outcome to op 8 or 9? on Monday. My ' wait and watch' routine certainly puts into perspective just what adversities you have had to conquer and how well you have dealt with them. Your words of wisdom, empathy and humour are always valued and inspirational.
Regards
Derek

Hope things went well for you!
You can have mermaids if you want them :o)

Hi Tony:
Good luck to you. Compared to your previous surgeries, this will indeed be a breeze.

Tony
It'll go great on Monday. You'll notice the difference. Now if you're really, really really lucky or a smooth talker you could talk the Doctor into a little tuck here, there and a whole new you! Chet had the eye tuck done twice and it really was a simple procedure. I'll be thinking of you.

Just to report in - quiet day no real issues
Done under a general (see I am a coward !)
amazingly no sickness, nausia or dizzyness
also met a helpful mermaid....
On balance, I suspect I am in a DREAM !
writing in my sleep - still in the Hospital etc etc
Dont know if you will get this
I will write again when reality kicks in
Best regards
Tony

Hey Tony: I was wondering... Did you have the lowere lid pulled tighter also?
I'm asking because I had it done (again) on March 7th & since 3/18
I've been having such awful pain in the outer eye area - it's so bad
it wakes me up at night. I don't remember this happening the 1st time around.
My MD appt. is 3/29 so I'll ask him about it, just wondering if you've been having bad pains.

Not sure what has happened there for you
strange it should seem to hurt elsewhere ?
Anyhow all they did for me is close the gap at the inner end
by about 2-3mm - I say all - but I sense the tear duct
- the drain bit - has been slightly blocked as water
now holds much better and longer in the eyeball area
We hadent really discussed this as an option
but I am not complaining as it seems to work quite well
So in conclusion :
Sadley yes the drugs have now worn off (shame...)
and its back to reality....
I have a mild black eye, and a sore nose
but as things go - I got off lightly !
Best regards
Tony

Hi Tony: thanks for the info; Glad it's working for you,
So, you needed tightening at the inner aspect,
mine is at the outer aspect, oh well.....
Best wishes on continued healing !!! Nancy

I had further thoughts on this one
Maybe, only maybe, its a bit tight for you at the moment
in time the skin will adjust
Take medical advice here
but an interim solution maybe..
Many ANers use a nightime eye-lube type gel to protect
an eye that does not quite close properly
The same gel would also have a lubrication function
this may help you
Word of caution - it will need to be carefully cleaned off in the morning
that means very clean tissue/cloth and distilled water
Just a thought
Best regards
Tony

Hi Tony: thanks again. Because I have facial paralysis,
I use lubricant 'round the clock
to combat the dryness.
Yeah, I was wondering if the under layers of skin
are tightening from the healing & that may be causing the pain.
Well, I'll know on Thursday......
