Title: Has anyone experienced improved hearing over time?????
Post by: jtd71465 on March 09, 2007, 10:38:17 am
Has anyone who has had surgery experienced improved hearing over time?  If so, what was the time frame for improvement, when did it level off?

Thanks,

Joe-

Hi Joe,
Did you have any hearing following or prior to the surgery? Mine was completely gone. I cannot hear at all in the damaged side. It sounds crazy but the good side seems to have gotten better. I haven't had another test on the good ear but for me it seems like things are louder than they were. The best person to ask would be the surgeon who was doing the surgery. They will know the condition of the hearing nerve and what took place during surgery. I wish I could be of more help thean that. Best of luck, Carol

I had excellent hearing prior to surgery.  I was told once they could monitor the nerve they received a "weak" signal but the nerve looked great.
