Title: absent
Post by: Lorenzo on January 18, 2007, 01:12:53 pm
hi all, sorry for not being very active and present here. I'm having a pretty rough week in terms of doctors here at home and also at work with a lot, lot, lot of stress, frustration and anger producing situations. i have to keep my sanity and deal with all this, however it will all pan out. right now, resignation from the job sounds like a good option. in the end, i have to think of my health. one thing that comes to mind regarding doctors: if you have to deal with the medical system, be sure to at the height of your health!

Hi Lorenzo:

Sorry for the 'bad day' (to put it mildly, I'm sure).
Life can be one bad hair day sometimes.
You've always been there for us -
anything we can do for you?  ....  I have a cousin Guido,we call him godfather, i can call if you like....   lol

Hope things improve.  Best remedy:  kick back, deep breath, glass of Chianti, hug from the wife, great memories.....

Take care buddy, Nancy.

you gys are doing a lot for me as it is, just by being there. thanks nancy, appreciate your support. i won't even go into the details of the stuff, some i can't (medical, one threat of legal action is enough) the other is just to convoluted and tedious. suffice to say that i don't get low very easily but all this knocked me right back.

medical stuff was yesterday, trip to see my docs. fruitless to put it in a mild way. won't even start. at the same it's not the medical opinion that i value the most, so that's ok.

thanks for the offer. does your cousin travel?

kicking back, oh ya, forgot about that. glass of chianti, hemmm... then i won't sleep much.

omg, i even type without caps!  madonna, i must be bad!

Ciao, Lorenzo

At risk of sounding old before my time
- its usually PAR for the course (medical folk in general)
I dont know why exactly
I find the average Walmart temp rather more helpful
than someone supposedly in "caring" proffession......
I actually vowed to hit the next idiot that told me
"you are not a priority" - so they could fully understand the meaning ?
Anyhow - part of a search involves not only finding the right
"next move" - but also discounting the "wrong move"
If you learned one thing today
- dont go there again ?
just a guess...
Hope you have a better day tomorrow
Best regards
Tony

BIG HUG TO YOU LORENZO

Thanks again! Love the moving green wishes Kathy!  :)  THANK YOU!!!   Very irish....    LOL   :)

As for not going there again, you're right Tony. One would ideally 'not go there' again. Hopefully I won't have to either. Shame that due to the previous 'problem' (the treat one) I am left with one option when it comes to a doc with some expertise in the field, and that's him. And that's for the entire country, not just locally. So, I learned to steadfastily rely on my docs in Stanford and pray that nothing is ever going to happen to me that requires a faster response than 20 hours. That's as long as it would take me to go to Stanford!  :)

I will have a better day tomorrow, I'm sure of it. You all have helped me in that, and I really appreciate it!  :)

Ciao, Lorenzo

NOw, how the heck did you get that text moving???  LOL LOL LOL

Ah friends, I'm smothered with hugs, thanks so much!
:)
I must be one of the few Italians that doens't have a Guido. I do have a Paolo, in fact that's the only sibling I have. He also looks more the part of the Italian thann me, the real thing, DARK. So the Guidos are standing by? Excellent. Do they offer discount for multiple 'jobs'? Have a few in mind...   :)
I'm doing better. I'm getting used to the situation at the college and I / we made the resolution to keep out of all the nonsense as much as possible and not be involved too much in the place. It's a question of self-preservation. We're taking a step back from it all, do our jobs and forget about the rest, including any social aspects with certain 'colleagues'. Sigh... Ah well, other fish to fry.
Glad I have friends to keep up the morlae!

HI ALL,  I'm responding to this ABSENT thread, as I have  been kind of absent for several weeks now. Lots going on, illness and work.  waiting for a repeat blood test to make sure there's nothing to worry about. (good thing for thoes little worry dolls from Equidor to put under my pillow)  I like the new layout of the forum. But what is up with all the moving text???, I'm dizzy enough, you guys trying to test me.  Nothing like chasing the words across the page while trying to read them. LOL

Gald to be back, I'll try and stayed tuned in a bit more.

Hey Lorenzo,  I have those problems at work
Being a New Yorker transplanted in Miami, I have learned (painfully)
to keep my thoughts to myself, only a few at work & in my department, that we can share views, talk openly without the fear of reprisal.

Live and learn, huh ???
Title: Re: absent
Post by: Lorenzo on January 21, 2007, 07:33:50 am
HI Nancy,
I need some New Yorker training from you on how to keep my mouth shut. I tend to speak my mind and that does not go down to well at times. Glad you have someon you can talk to. I have Sheila, no danger there of bullying and harrassment. Mind you, on second thought... :)
Live and learn, yes. You're right. Thing is, I think I might be a bit old to learn. I manage to live though. ;D
Ciao, have to go and get myself ready to face the darlings tomorrow.

Trust me Lorenzo, it isn't easy,
sometimes I still mess up & open my mouth
& as soon as I do I regret it....  happened a couple of weeks ago.
Even with best intentions, people take things as a personal afront.

The more you practice at it, the more times you remember to keep a lid on it.

  Good luck tomarrow,  Nancy

HEY PATTI:

I JUST REALIZED, THE MOVING WORDS ARE A GREAT BALANCE EXERCISE  !!!!!
Title: Re: absent
Post by: Lorenzo on January 21, 2007, 11:46:07 am
Ok, Nancy, I will remember that, keep my mouth shut, and if that fails I'll blame my tumour! Good plan, I like it. It'll be difficult but I'm sure I'll manage.

The words help yu balance? They make me dizzy! I din't have aproblem until i discovered that 'M' button!  ;D

Ciao, will let you know how many ritual killings I will have carried out on students tomorrow.

that's what a balance exercise does,
makes you feel dizzy when you do it so you challenge yourself.

I'm getting better at 'while keeping my eyes closed
& feet together, one foot slightly foward,
turn my head side to side'

this AN must be THE best excuse for anything ever! I lLOVE it. It just comes in handy on so many occasions... It's a real passepartout excuse, one nobody can dispute. not so far anyway.  ;D

Nancy, I must try that exercise.  WOAH! I just did!! OMG. I didn't fall over but I was certainly working hard with my feet to keep my balance. Interesting one, I shall start doing the sme exercise too!!

Thanks sorelle, let the Guidos come!  ;D

Lorenzo, Ye Scallywag

Oftentimes, when a bloke or a wench is a little DOWN we just hafta give em a job on the Goode Ship Princess Batty Wench!!!!  Fixes 'em right up, takin' 'em fer a cruise out on the Rollin' Blue and all!!! We usually let 'em make up their own jobs, like "keeper of the olives and pickled onions" or "shark wrangler" or Headache Fairy swatter."

Whatcha think?

How do I get a Guido?  I am not Italian. However, I did date one once. Does that count? I have my list of doctors, co-workers, simi-friends and many strangers.

How about starting with the doctor's office that calls you after a test and leaves a msg. on you home recorder on a Friday afternoon while you are at work telling you the doctor needs to talk to you about your test results. Now my stress level goes up, I can think of all sorts of dire prognosis. Call on Monday morning and get a recording to leave a msg. Leave the msg. and not return call. By Tuesday I am a basket case. I am calling every doctor I have ever been to see if they know anything about these test results. NO!!!,

Tuesday evening another call on home recorder telling me the doctor needs to see me and my appointment is next week. Longest week spent planning my will and funeral. Go to the doctor and hear " well your tests are ok". "We are concerned about your blood pressure how long has it been this high"? Smart remark from me about msgs. left on recorders and why they couldn't just tell me the tests were fine and come see the doctor to go over them. I need a Guido or two. They couldn't possibly cost more than what the doctor charges for a visit.

OK, Now I'm spinning terribly.  I was just thinking how good I've been feeling lately. We have been in a very long high pressure weather spattern and it has been great for me head,  until, that is, I read Lorenzo's mvoing posts.  wew! spinning spinning, feeling like I've had a few, and it's only 9:30am.

Michelle, be careful if your trying to mail any of them brownies to Lorenzo. I sent him a Tim Tam pcare package before Christmas, 5 weeks later it came back to me all brused and tattered, and smashed into little Tim Tam Crumbles.  Wow them Irish and their tempers. Talk about going postal.  They smashed the smitherines outa dem Timmy Tams.

Lorenzo  I was in Venito and Toscona twice in 2003,  didn't see you there.  Oh yea, guess I did, that large statue of a naked man in the center of Florence  (david)  LOL

Gee Patti I sure hope you didn't throw out the tim tams..you know you could have dumped them in a big cold glass of milk and salvaged them all right  ;D

I feel crushed Lorenzo didn't get the tim tam experience.  Geesh, no pink pirate socks for him either.  How sad  :'( :-* :-\ ::)

nice and steady.
See? it isn't moving. I hope I didn't make all of you too sick.  Maybe with should suggest something like that as a test for our balance systems.

Patti, Not sure what happend to those Tim Tams, I was expecting them and nothing ever arrived. Maybe the dept of argiculture considered them to be too unhealthy to let them into the country. ;D  VEneto? That's where I'm from! Of course you din't see me, I was here... And hemmm, nooooo David isn't me, that's an idealised version of a male figure created as an anatomy study by some deranged artist who had nothing better to do. Had he known the effects on the male population for centuries to come he would have refrained I'm sure.

Battyprincess, I used to have various pink sweaters, until I got 'challenged / chatted up' by a man at an airpot. I changed over to all sorts of shades of grey now, much less confusing.

Physical terrorist? Now I CAN do that! Sure!! Let me figure out some more torture methods, will get back to you on that Deb!

Ciao all, and Mornin'  :)
