Hello Everyone,
I've been lurking and hoping the porn and spam will be taken care of properly. I've been sending some support to those who need it, in private email. (or any data I might have to share of benefit)
My idea is to have a *GIANT* toasting.........where all the people of 06' that had tumors taken care of, raise their glass in a GIANT FORUM TOAST-OUT! (AROUND THE GLOBE at the end of the year.......I know the time is so different, here and there)
I will raise my glass with the rest of you people who want to "ring-out" the old and in with the new, 07' by having their AN removed this year. (one way or another....Cyber, Gamma, big surgery, whatever!)
I'm going for it........I can't wait! We bought some unblended scotch today and some soda. It will be a special New Year's Eve, this year.........A REAL BIGGIE! I will only have one glass of it but, it will be a strong one. Now, I don't wish to encourage bad behavior, just partake in a glass of vino or your favorite adult beverage.
CrazyCat........no KoolAid here........Grin........Palace
PS Don't worry.......I don't want to know who the oldest person on the list, is; for that matter, it could be me! :P

Palace,
Great idea.
Ok, CK first week of April, 2006. Received confirmation on Dec 4 that the radio-surgery is starting to do it's thing (the booger is beginning to die!).... and a thrilling holiday present for me.
So... (jcinma, are you listening hun?), I will raise my glass on NYE to those that have endured so much this past year... and to those "posties" that remain here to cheer the newbies along..... with a Belvedere (or Gray Goose) martini, shaken/not stirred, straight up with 4 extra pimento-filled olives!
Wishing you all a terrific holiday season!
Phyl, the cursed cruise director who will require a designated driver while I attempt to walk the dog that night.

Count me in Palace, sounds like a great plan! Cheers!

Cheers:
Vicki and Lorenzo.....and all the others past, up to present.......ABSOLUTELY, raise you glass with the group.
We might start a list of treatment patients after the first of the year going back in time, listing each year with every person having TX in each year. It would be interesting but, would take some time to do that. A person from each of those years might begin their own list once 2006 is completed. We could compact all of it up to date for each year, to have on record. (the data would be more easily read if recorded in "stats" like we are doing for 2006) This would incorporate people of this forum. Of course, we realize there are more people around the world who had Acoustic Neuroma treatments but, not recorded on the list. *Note: this is just people on the forum that we are recording, for interest sake. (and their type of treatment for each year)
Yes, everyone join in on the "toasting out" of another year of AN's that got removed or "blasted." ;D
Everyone is welcome to join in on the 12/31 "Mega-Toast" of their choice of adult beverage....or plain safe-drinks..........AND NATURALLY WE ALL KNOW, "no drinking and driving!" :-*
Have fun,

Tayor and Taylorsmom gave me another idea!  :-*
We will raise our glasses to the youngest and the oldest on this forum, New Year's Eve. (a seperate toast than the 06' AN treatment group of this year.........pretty soon we will get drunk toasting out the year on different "toast-outs!")  :) Please all of you don't take my jokes that seriously. (my English or Polish jokes; lol)
Concerts, toasts, travels.........Party on.....we all earned it, no-matter the age of the AN.  ;D I'm the "oldest" on the list because, I never had kids!  :o
A special *toast* for Taylor and us OLDIE/GOODIES! It is less than a couple of weeks away. I remember and it seems just like yesterday, we were all looking forward to the millennium "toast-in."
Here is to a good today and better tomorrow,

Translab sept 06! ;)

I had retro Aug '06, then blot clot in sinus vein Sept '06, cause by the surgery.
I just got the OK to stop taking blood thinner medication, so I will be toasting to all of you and MYSELF. Believe me I need a good drink, it has been a trying year. I say that 2007 has got to be a lot better than 2006. All of us need to raise our glasses and be thankful.
Thank you all for all of the good information and opinions. It is good to read and type out frustions to others that understand.

I had Retro in August 06, knee surgery in Feb. 06 and lost a very close cousin to cancer in July 06. I can't wait for this horrid year to end. I have been on a medication that forbids a drop of alcohol for the past three months and today I took the final pill. The doc say to give it another week, so I've decided to have a very nice New Years Eve celebration. We will be home with friends and family playing poker. Actually I haven't had any alcohol since the AN surgery. I'm sure I'll be a light weight, especially with wackies going on in my head.
Happy Holidays to all.
Terry
-
Terry, ;D
I haven't had much if any alcohol. I'm taking Valium to sleep until the end of the year. I'm not a sleeper anyway so, I dread going off it. (midnight migraine, etc.) Anyway, I haven't had alcohol for a couple of reasons, bad habit and not good for the body. Moderation can be OK and red wine is supposed to be beneficial in small quantities.ÂÂ
Here is my idea for myself and maybe you. I'm going to make two crockpots of hot cider. (one hot mulled wine, maybe and the other plain hot cider for company) They can make up their own minds. We sort-of have an open house between Christmas and New Year's here. That way the crockpots put out a wonderful smell in the house with the scented candles. With two big dogs, I'm sure the house has a doggy smell especially when there is wet rainy fur in the winter.ÂÂ
There is nothing like hot spiced or mulled wine when you live in the cold mountains, like we do. (or just plain VERY HOT cider) Also, sometime heating it burns out some of the alcohol which is a good thing in yours and my case. We aren't used to drinking anymore. It is just an idea to go with your poker party.  :D
Hugs and I toast to you........with you on this year OUT!    Palace  :)

Taylor you can join us with a non-alcoholic drink of your choice. You can make something real pretty with some 7-up and some fruit juice or make up your own fruity concoction. It's the thought that counts, not the alcohol!!
Happy New Year, Taylor. You are something special.

GET THIS........the night before, X-mas even.........I was in ER tonight. (turned out to be a MAJOR case of fungal on the foot; my surgery foot where I had five foot surgeries........one a year and the last one last year at this time) Well, anyway we drove out of the mountains tonight and I did the full waiting at ER and the diagnosis. My foot was so painful and looks horrible. I couldn't feel it until this point because, it is numb from so many foot surgeries. It began to be extremely painful today and I pulled the toes wide apart and there was the raw meat, BAD. I know AN people can handle that. It is nothing. I didn't want to wait until Tues. to go to the regular clinic. (nothing open over the holiday time) OK, I got all my necessary meds and I feel better already.
Now, about that list Obita........are those all 06'?
Hugs,

A BIG TOAST TO PHIL AND JOEF, as well. The forum looks fabulous. Everything wonderful is lots of work and if it isn't, who would appreciate it? We will toast to you for doing such a good "clean-sweep" on the AN forum. (5 days left of this year!)
My sincerest thanks,

Maybe I missed something (which is very very possible!) but what time are we doing our group toast. At the same time, adjusted for time zones, or at our own Midnight. Or just sometime between the hours of 6p.m and midnight? Just want to make sure I do this right...and hope that I remember it!!

Sue:
Since it is eight hours later over the big pond...........our "BIG TOASTING OUT" that day is official early on. We are going to run this thing from, "NOON TO MIDNIGHT." That means you may toast at a formal brunch on NYE, toast at HAPPY HOUR on NYE, toast at supper on NYE, toast with after dinner drinks past six in the evening and on up to the formal hour of midnight! We are running the MEGA TOAST from NOON-MIDNIGHT on New Year's Eve Day. There you have it..........................
Folks, it is official!
Toasting out this year for AN Forum people runs from *noon to midnight!*
This will work well for around the world where is is eight or more time length past us!
Hey there CRAZY CAT, ya in on this? (wherever the wind did blow you?) I hope you are having a good time. Take lots of pictures and paint some!
All right you party-goers..........be sure to pick out a favorite AN glass. That reminds me, we should have special AN glasses made up so we are all drinking out of that same glass. (bring them to the "meet-up" and go through customs with an Acoustic Neuroma glass. I'm sure they would ask what that was. We could put our MRI on the glass, our very own MRI logo.
I'd better get back to bed. It is three in the morning and I'm getting silly. Thanks for understanding.
WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO "The Mega Toast Out" is coming!
We are doing music concerts DVD's, white popcorn, mixed nuts, *killer* garlic bread, fine cheeses, fruits, pizza slices and of course the liquid beverage of choice. It is casual and simple. On New Year's day we are having prime rib made by the husband using sea-salt. (yummmy) My tummy is getting bigger already from the holidays.
Off to take a Sonata *(two hour little sleeping pill) as, I have been up off and on all night long.
Again........the TOASTING...........NOON TO MIDNIGHT on the last day of December! :P
Blast off you guys,
Palace
-
Sounds good to me!
2007 is coming up soon,
Let's have a toast,
Oh, say around noon.
Afternoon might be the time,
To raise your glass,
And chug down that wine.
Maybe nighttime is best,
When it's cold and dark,
Give 3 cheesr to you and the rest.
Let's all remember everyone,
Each of us different,
Not the loss, but the battle won.
:) :) :) :)

It is just after four in the morning, when we got up and lit another fire. (still cold and windy but, no rain) The power is back on so, it looks like I join all of you on NYE for getting rid of this year. I still think it would be fun to have our own AN glasses. (they would have to be non-breakable the way we fall around)
:P It is nice to not have to hook-up to the generator to talk with you.
There is no more storms for a week but, 60 mp winds still going on.
All of your drinks, sound festive!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO US, LOL

Let the celebrations begin.... :D
I was awaken today by a phone call from a dear friend of mine in Sydney Australia, at the stroke of midnight local time... she was celebrating hearty and I was one of the first she wished a happy new year....so.... on global watch now....
To Chris, to Laz, to all of our AN friends in AUS and as of now, in Japan (all of my co-workers), HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May the new year be filled with lots of love, GOOD HEALTH, joy and prosperity! I raise my coffee mug (and Tim Tams for the Oz gang!) to those that ring in the new year as of this hour in celebration for a good new year!

HAPPY NEW EAR! (new ear; lol)
Yes, less tumor and more humor in 2007; you are so right, Bev!
We are going to try and hike the dogs up to the dam behind the house. The high up trail narrows to about 1.5 feet. I hope I have enough energy and balance to do this. We promised the babies a NYE hike for them. It is cold and drizzle. (the drizzle is letting up) I have to put the Frontline stickers and the Heartworm stickers on the whole calendar for 07' when we return.
I think I will make that "Unblended Scotch" with soda upon the return from the hike if I make it. I went up there once and was so tired I felt like someone should carry me back on a stretcher. It is beautiful if you go all the way to the falls. I was always wondering why people older than me would "buzz" up to the falls and I'd drag myself with agonizing pain and exhaustion.
Today is the big toast-out. I pledge myself a donation to the AN organization if I can make it up there and back. (a few miles) I hope I don't ruin my day but, I'm going to try this for the dogs. If I make it, let the party begin.....here at noon.......DVD's, (musical concerts) movies, the food, dogs getting a special chicken holiday meal, relaxing.........I hope!
Stay tuned for the saga and I hope the elevation doesn't set off my ear again.
The allergies to the molds and redwoods are bad but heck, I have that in my own backyard.
I'm leaving...........HAPPY NEW EAR,
HUGS TO ALL........................................PALACE

Hi All.....
We are back, it began to rain again. We walked up the little hill by the cemetery. (lots of history in there for this little town and pretty) I'm glad we didn't go. I was dreading it as, I'm tired enough. It is so cold and dark, too. (chill to the bone, cold) I will try to hike maybe on a nice "late spring" day. (warmer, anyway) I hope some of my energy returns.ÂÂ
It is a couple more hours until noon here and our festive eating. (and maybe a drink) I will be in bed early and won't last for the late-night group and to see the new year in. This is good enough for me........
Oh, how about going in the hot-tub and if you don't have one or live in So. CA. (and it is too hot of a day, anyway) take a tub soak to relax. I hope you have a tub besides a shower. :D
Enjoy your last day of the year, journey! Make it a special day, somehow.
My best to all of you and HAPPY NEW YEAR! ;)

We are at 28 people on the list for the toasting-out for this year.
It is almost noon here for our official Kick-off. You want funny? I just threw my calendar in the fireplace for this year. It had all my med dates on it for the 2006. I loved watching it burn!
We just filled in two swimming pool sized holes the dogs dug already before, noon. They are celebrating the new year coming in. They had their chicken brunch with carrots, rice, eggs and a few dry dog food kernals thrown in for their tummy. (oh, and they had yogurt, too) Now, they can watch us eat.
I have to go cut the fruits up while eating nuts. We have all kinds of cheese and I'm about to open that Scotch. I don't drink hard liquor but, once a year.
OK, we have bad and mean chips on a plate, etc. I don't do junk food but, today......is our day and I'm going for it.
HAVE ONE-SIDED FUN KIDS, :D

I toasted all Aners I don't know
I wished you all the very best and good health for 2007
Then I drank the glass, and a couple more...
A happy and healthy new year to you all!

My husband and I toasted everyone when we were at dinner. Cheers to one and all and let's all make this, the year 2007, a year of celebration and joy. A year of good fellowship with friends and family. A year of trying to be healthy in mind, body and spirit. Savor the good times, learn from the bad times, and dance to the music my friends.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL ANers..
I actually danced, laughed and drank so hard....We can never forget the year of 2006...It was so awesome..just kidding..Lets not regret the year of 2006..But lets celebrate the coming of new year....lets pray together that our future will bring more joy and happiness...lets work together and fight against whatever the defects this tumor put on us....We are not defective pieces, we are but uniquely unique pieces..
