Title: MRI shows gap in skull bone post surgery. Is this normal?
Post by: saccadiceye on March 22, 2017, 05:20:23 pm
My MRI shows a gap in my skull bone. I had a cerebellar tumor removed. The surgeon drilled into the occipital bone. The gap looks to be a few mm wide and a few cm long. However, I am not an expert on reading these scans  ;D.

I will see a neurologist in a week maybe I will ask him.

I notice that I feel worse when the air pressure and weather changes. I generally feel much better during long periods of stable weather.

Is a gap in the skull normal post surgery?

I would think this would be normal, you say yourself the doctor drilled a hole in the bone, this takes time to re-calcify ( if it does).....the drill hole I had hasn't , the incision line somewhat but not completely....that's from the first surgery and from the second no re-growth of bone ( was plugged with fat)
Take care
