I just wanted to give my perspective on this. I am not a hard core yogi but I have done yoga for over a decade, a few times a month max. For me it was mental relaxation plus a physical challenge. I've always considered myself clumsy so yoga was a great thing for me. I figured after my AN removal that I might never return to yoga. A few months post surgery I decided to just try it at home, assisted by a wall or couch and just see how it went. I've progressed to the point of being able to do hour long classes. To my fullest, nope. I usually try and position myself next to a wall incase I get tipsy. On my balance affected side, I usually have to modify If we are doing standing leg poses. My unaffected side is easy.
Just know that yoga should be considered for strength building, mental satisfaction, and balance recovery. There are some simple, great online tutorials or I use an online video download service for ones to do at home.
Namaste ;)

I am a month postop, thinking about going back to yoga. Had anyone try headstand, or forearm stand , and any issues if yes?

I have neck muscle damage so headstands are out for me...and that's ok ;)
