It's been 4 years since my surgery and 2 years since my gamma knife treatment. My face was completely paralyzed, my smile returned overnight at a year post-op. 4 years later I have regained about 70% use of the right side of my face. I am even starting to see wrinkles in my forehead, who thought I'd ever be happy to see wrinkles ! I can chew gum now too and eat a little with the right side of my mouth! So, don't give up hope, it was a VERY slow process for my facial nerve to regenerate. I prayed that I could accept the outcomes of my ordeal and I finally have. I suffered with deep depression for three years after my diagnosis. Hang in there and try to enjoy each day :)
