I being told radiation will be the best option in my case.
I currently reside in Chicago , Illinois.
I decided to teat my An with radiation.
I met few physicians but none give me enough confident.
I have questions :
a) Should I have a neurosurgeon or radiation oncologist to do the radiation ?
b) there are different ways to deliver the radiation (Gamma Knife, Linac, Novalis,
Xknife, Cyberknife),
Among all these , which one is better & should I pay attention if the medical institute
use a newer model on their equipment ?
c) Would anyone suggest a good hospital/physician on this radiation treatment?
My AN tumor size is 2.1 cm x 1.8cm.
Thanks so much.

I live in Chicago. I met with doctors at Rush, Northwestern and in the suburbs when researching my GK options. I ended up going to Mayo for the procedure in June 2015, that was where I felt the most comfortable and confident in the doctors. It's only a 5.5 hour drive from Chicago.
To answer your other question, GK at Mayo is performed by a neurosurgeon working with a radiation oncologist. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. So if you haven't already made a decision with a local dr/hospital, it may be worth looking into.
Good luck.

Curious to know what you ended up doing. I am also in the Chicago area and am consulting physicians at Loyola. Have you had the treatment?
