I had Gamma Knife treatment for my AN at Royal Oak Beaumont yesterday with Dr. Chen and Dr. Bojrab. Arrived at 5:45 and had the frame attached. MRI at 6:30, breakfast, CT at 7:30, GK at 9:00. GK took about 45 minutes. Michelle, my nurse, looked after me closely and took great care of me! They kept me in the hospital for about an hour afterward for observation and sent me home. I had a slight headache about an hour after the frame came off, Michelle gave me ibuprofen for it, and I took more ibuprofen over the remainder of the day.
My head was so thouroughly numbed that it didn't feel normal till about 9:00 that evening. No problems sleeping and I feel great this morning.

Congratulations tekmac2000, I'm sure you feel an immense amount of relief now that the Gamma is behind you. Glad to hear it went well.

Hey, Tekmac2000, your GK was on the anniversary of my GK. Mine was 1/22/13.
I didn't get breakfast. ::)

My head frame was put on at 5:45 a.m. My Gamma Knife treatment was at 1:45 p.m.
I didn't get breakfast or lunch! I did get some pretty good drugs to relax me though.

I think breakfast is standard at Beaumont. I asked for oatmeal and a donut, my husband ate the donut :)
I also had good drugs, two ativan before the frame, and they gave me shots of something else whenever I started acting anxious. Not really sure how I got from the car to the house though....

I was put under for about 20 minutes for the head frame.
Local anesthetic for the scalp.
No other drugs except the contrast.
When GK was done and the head frame was removed, I got dressed, my friend picked my up, we went to lunch then I goofed off for the rest of the day and back to normal the next day.
