Has anyone had the minimally invasive T-3 surgery recently? If so, how effective was it? Would you do it again? I had a nerve transfer surgery about a year ago with minimal results. I am considering the T-3 at Johns Hopkins.

Hi there! how ARE you?? Remember, I had it done 2007, NOT minimally invasive. I had/have total facial paralysis, facial nerve cut. Dr. Patrick Byrne, Johns Hopkins, did my T3 11/20/2007, & it made a HUGE difference in my appearance. So glad I went there. When I bite down, I have a slight 'mona lisa' smile. It also took away my horrible 'droop.' Always good thoughts, Nancy

Kaybo had the T3 surgery also - not miminally invasive as Nancyann said.

Thanks. I recall that Nancyann and Kaybo had it. It is my understanding that the procedure is now minimally invasive. A year ago Dr. Byrne did a nerve transfer (a branch of the 7th to a branch of the 5th/chewing nerve). The procedure was outpatient and somewhat helpful. I have a Skype conference with him in February. I am going through a divorce so I am trying to get things done while I have good insurance.

That would be wonderful if it was now minimally invasive ;D
