My husband is 3 years post op retrosigmoid 3 cm AN tumor. He is experiencing a peppery burning feeling on his tongue and lips. His taste buds are very sensitive to spicy food. He recently had an ear infection in his ear that has not worked since the surgery which was treated with antibiotic. Has anyone had this experience? He had an MRI a year ago and all looked good. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thank you!!

I just had my AN removed on 10/21/12 and I have been feeling the burning sensation on the affected side. Which is weird, because right now I can't feel or use anything on that side. I don't know what it means, but I didn't have an ear infection so I don't think it's related. Hope that helps, though :)

I have a tinny taste on my left side where I had my surgery. It is very annoying. Food tastes weird, too. This can be a side effect of the surgery. I hope it goes away soon.

This is commonly known among us ANers as "metallic mouth" - very normal post op. It should go away over time.
As for the burning feeling 3 years post op, I've never heard of this. Nor have I experienced it; I'm 6+ years post op.

Wow I too have a metallic taste and tingling feeling on the right side of my tongue and some slight drooling and I agree everything tastes bad even water. I felt this before surgery then it was gone for 2 to 3 days then it came back. I'm hoping it goes away soon. I hate this feeling.
