Hi all,
Still trying to decide between radiation treatment (GK or Linac) and surgery. I am 31 years old, so long-term health is important for me.
My AN is 18 x 16 x 13 mm. I do have access to two good surgeons (a neurosurgeon and an ENT surgeon). I have only hearing loss and tinnitus with a bit of tingling in my forehead.
I've seen a few posts after the radiation treatment for AN, MRI shows meningioma(s).
Is this a mere coincidence or is it likely to happen after radiation?

Joanna,
My meningiomas were an incidental finding on my original MRI. The doctor was looking for the AN and the MRI with contrast showed my AN PLUS 2 meningiomas, so they were present well before my SRS treatment. On my pre-treatment MRI, a tiny 3rd meningioma was noted but in retrospect my neurosurgeon thinks it was there all along but the better resolution of the second scan made that one more apparent. I also have NF2, hence the meningiomas. They were not related to my treatment and continue to be monitored. My 6 month post-treatment MRI showed no change in the meningiomas.
