Title: FLYING - COMPRESSION SOCKS OR STOCKINGS
Post by: v357139 on November 10, 2013, 08:02:20 pm
Does anyone have info on picking compression socks or stockings for flying home after surgery?  I am the careful type so I'd like to wear them just to be safe.

Hiya
I was told to wear the stockings when I was being taken home by car!  I've had previous DVTs in my leg so they were cautious.
I would recommend them particularly if flying.
Good luck.

I don't know if there are different types of them but you can get them at most medical supply places.  Hopefully they would be able to provide additional information.  Probably a wise precaution.  Good thoughts to you!

Did you get them with prescription?  And which size, the knee high, lower thigh, or full stocking?

You can get them at Walgreens or CVS.

You will have them put on you before the surgery also at the hospital.                     Cheryl R

I asked them for a pair to take home.  I will wear them on plane home just for the peace of mind.
