Facial nerve not working.
Nerve conductions done on Jan '11. Repeated 23rd May '11. Result of both tests - No signals on facial nerve.
SSD left side.
5 ops in 6 weeks to fix CSF leaks.
3 months in hospital.
Tarsorrhaphy 9 Mar '11.
Sling Thur 16 June '11.
12/7 nerve graft 9 Feb '12.
Vocal cord stopped working 9 Feb for 6 months. I had speech therapy and now have a hoarse/husky voice and will be eating soft foods for ever.
Hearing aides fitted Feb 2013.
Facial sling released Feb 2013 (Didn't work and has left me with a permanent toothy smirk on the left but it's better than a scowl).
Another tarsorrhaphy to be done this month for extreme 'dry eye'. (More about that when I get over the shock as I was only told about it yesterday).
Wonky-headedness is with me and so is my faith that I can smile through anything and not let it rule my life.
Does all of the last 3 years define who I am/was/will be? You bet it does! Bring on the next 3 years and I'll come back here and tell you the same thing that I'll tell you now ..................
