Last year at this time I had recently found out about my acoustic neuroma. Three days before my surgery I ran/walked a 5K. I said I would do it again in a year. Well, today was the day of the race. I did run/walk it again. My time was only 23 seconds slower than last year. I had no problems with my balance or anything related to the acoustic neuroma. Practicing before-hand might be helpful though. lol
Today was my little celebration. There is life after an acoustic neuroma and it can similar to the way it was before. Maybe next year I'll train before the race and get a better time, but I know I'll be back. (I was second for my age bracket. Okay there only were two people in my age bracket. lol )

Good for you!! Running is one of the good things we can get back to after an AN!! So celebrate!!
I am workng out again for about 2 months and it does feel good to get stronger.
That is so good that you did not feel off balance. Many times after I exercise I feel MORE balanced!
I see that you are living where I was Born!!
Take care,

Thanks everyone. As I was running I was thinking of all of my AN friends. Thanks for all of the support.
Capt'n Deb, nice graphics. I'm going to have to learn how to do that.

Jean,
Congratulations on returning to the 5K run/walk. I'm hoping to return to pickup basketball eventually. Hearing positive stories is always welcome.

Jean,
Congratulations!!! What a wonderful accomplishment! ;D. I'm a great believer in having physical goals as part of the healing process for an AN. Now that you've got the run part done, how about setting your sights on a triathlon?? ;) A few lengths swim in the pool and a little time on the bike and you're there :D

Way to go!!!! yea!!! congrats!!
I tried to ride a bike yesterday. I stayed on for 3-4 min before it got too weird. last year I fell right off.
Me thinksI maybe I can do it again someday. As long as I don't turn my head I don't fall down. I looked pretty silly wearing my daughters knee pads, and riding her small bike. But you gotta go slow and start small.
