Hello guys,
I am 27 years old male. I have been having ear and jaw pain in my left ear since last couple of months and one morning I woke up with pressure in my left ear with hearing loss. I straightaway went to GP and she gave me some antihistamine, which resolved it in couple of days. With my ear and jaw pain, I should also mention that my lower jaw slides to right side when I close it. I also have tinnitus in both ears, but it sounds more on left and it changes sometimes to right side.
My GP referred me to ENT specialist, who advised me to go through hearing test. I found out that I have mild sensorineural bilateral hearing loss. Audiologist mentioned it is more on left side than right one. My ENT has asked me to go through MRI test and I have booked one for 13 Feb. It will be with contrast.
Just freaking out, what it is? Is it acoustic neuroma?

We're not doctors and so cannot credibly answer your question - but the MRI scan results, will. Be sure to check that the scan is performed with contrast, which offers the best chance of detecting even a very small AN, should one exist. If you are found to have an acoustic neuroma, they are 99% benign - and treatable.

There's no way of telling until you get your MRI.
But let me make a suggestion.
First thing tomorrow call up the records department of the place where you will be getting your MRI and find out what it takes to get the images on a CD. Some places will allow you to get your images the same day right after the MRI.
Once you have the MRI done, waiting is the worst part, so if you can get your CD the same day, take it home to view the images on your computer.
But first take a look at the following images so you'll have an idea of how they look on MRIs.

Hello guys,
Good news... Just got a call from my ENT specialist, MRI came normal. ;D
So there is mild hearing loss in both ears.. Left > Right, but not because of AN I would say.
Funny thing is I dont feel there is loss, but the hearing test says there is. BTW it was just a tone test, which is just screening test.
I believe it is my jaw which slides on left when I close and causing ear and jaw problems.
But anyways, this forum helped me a lot in these few days, emotionally. I can feel you guys, who have gone through this, and I salute you guys.
