Title: Swimming with my AN is uncomfortable
Post by: westcoastroller on January 04, 2013, 12:52:09 am
for the past year when I swim, my ear on the AN side feels even fuller than usual and then it seems to take a couple of hours after to drain the water out.  I had been swimming 3 x a week in the morning for the past 10 years.  I am really not enjoying it now with the ear fullness.   I love swimming and I am going to Galapagos next week and will be snorkelling. I have tried using ear plugs, but I am allergic to plastics, and silicons.  Does anyone have any solutions for this?

Try wax or polymer earplugs.

I don't know if polymer will give you the same reaction as plastic or silicone. You'll have to experiment.

Wax might be a good idea.

Here's both on Amazon.

I haven't tried polymer yet, will give it a try.  Wax might be a good option too.  Thank you for the info and the weblinks.  I hope one will work for me.
