Hello all!
I just received good news about my five and a half year MRI - IT IS CLEAN!!! I practically cried when I found out because the last thing I wanted is to deal with another regrowth of AN in the new year.
For those who do not know my story, I had an original AN removed at NYU in 1988 and the regrowth removed after 9 years of monitoring in 2007 at SBI by DR. Shahinian. Facial nerve was saved but there is some damage in that the mouth is somewhat dry on that side. All in all, it is a small price to pay given the humongous size of the original tumor.
Hopefully, my story will serve an encouragement to all newbies that no matter how big AN is, it will all turn all right at the end.
Happy New Year to all!

Thank you, everybody, for good wishes. My mood is different now: I am jumping with joy! All this celebration means that I won't be able to get any sleep tonight but it is certainly worth it. This #$#%Q% thing ruled most of my adult life. Is it over? It is hard to say so definitively but this MRI is so encouraging!

Outstanding ! I find good news, such as yours, always emotionally uplifting. Your tumor appears to have been pretty large and the nerves involved was quite extensive, yet your facial nerve was not sacrificed. Miracles do happen. Thank you for sharing.
