Hi Everyone......
I have just found out that my Tumor is not
a Acoustic Neuroma, and more likely a glioma
Tumor. It is located on the FIFTH Nerve and it
is pressing on the memory portion, and causing
problems.
We are in the process of finding a Neuro surgeon
and iv'e been told it must come out, and that there
is no way of telling if it's malignant or benign until it
is removed. I went from hey it's a benign tumor, to
hey we won't know till it comes out, that makes me
a lil nervous.
Have any of you been thru this same journey, or
perhaps I have something that is totally different from
AN???? I'd love to hear about your experiences, i'm
not real sure if I still belong in the AN boards, or if I have
a different condition all together......
Thanks for your help!!!!!!!

Lisa Marie,
First let me say that you are doing the right thing by hunting for information. Knowledge is power! Do the research and go with your gut feelings. I will keep you in my prayers.

Hi Lisa
I wonder if indeed this is a malignant glioma, whether surgical treatment for this would differ greatly than for AN?

I had thought 5th cranial nerve tumors affected the trigeminal nerve. If that's the case, you 'may' be in the right group.
Seems you need it out ( no choice really ) and then one day and thing at a time! You could consider a second or third opinion or at least other MRI interpretations. Such as at the Sloan Ketterling link I enclosed.
