Does anyone happen to know what the marks near my hairline on my forehead are from? They now look like burn marks? Reminds me of curling iron burns. The person doing my hair also pointed out that they go in like are indented. I am 5 weeks post-op.

Many surgeons use a head clamp to hold your head still during the operation. One is the Mayfield clamp.

No clamp was used.

Before my surgery, the nurse who was going to monitor my facial nerve and hearing nerve warned me, that I could get some marks like mosquito bites in the forehead. So I guess this is what you see - where the electrodes was located.

Probably is from monitor...however, mine son't resemble mosquito bites. They look like burn marks from a curling iron --no round but about an inch or so long and thin. They also cause a dent on my forhead. I am 6 weeks post op and they're still there.

Well the marks have faded some. I am now at 9 weeks post-op and did get an answer...most likely from the compression of the head wrap. They figured it was not the facial monitor since it is on both sides of my forehead. They are not bothersome; I was just curious as to what they were.
