Went for post op check yesterday and was told I can have the corner of my mouth operated on to help me drink (without a straw) and eat without dribbling, can anyone tell me what this entails and do you have to stay in hospital to have it done. I was in hospital for 3 weeks when I had my tumour out due to problems and have a bit of a phobia with them now.

Which procedure were they referring to? There are several different facial procedures available now!

Hi K thanks for replying, he said he can lift the corner of my mouth to make it more level. My eyebrow/eye lid is being done at a different hospital.

So is he "lifting" it but not connecting it to anything or taking stuff from somewhere else? I had a 12/7 graft and then years later I had a Temporalis Tendon Transfer where they took tendon from my leg and used it to lengthen from my lips so I would have a better smile...
Just wondering what exactly they are doing...I've never heard of a lift of the lip...

All I know is I was saying how I won't go to restaurants because I dribble when I eat and drink and the surgeon said he can fix it for me. I go back next year as he's hoping my mouth will return but if not he will explain what can be done.
